The overarching goal is to centralize operations, and to achieve operational excellence. For this purpose, it is establishing the Heidelberg Materials Remote Optimization Center (HROC) in its headquarters in Irving, Texas. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, maintenance, and improvement of refractory materials within our plant operations. You will collaborate closely with our plant operations to provide technical support and solutions to drive continuous improvement initiatives. **What You’ll Get to Do** + Support refractory on-site, including supervision, refractory lining, and safety evaluations. + Improve refractory service life by troubleshooting issues, problem-solving, and implementing quality improvement initiatives. + Monitor global market on refractory innovations, work on innovative solutions, and evaluate the added value of improvements for Heidelberg Materials. + Contribute to various projects in collaboration with the Cement Operations and Project Management team regarding refractory design criteria + Support technical purchasing procedures by assessing supplier documents and drawings + Engage in negotiations with suppliers to identify cost-saving potential + Act as subject-matter-expert by preparing and organizing workshops and conducting internal seminars. **Essential Experience and Skills** + Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related field + Extensive knowledge and expertise in the refractory industry + Strong knowledge of cement chemistry and materials technology + Proven track record of driving operational excellence, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and achieving results. + Demonstrated commitment to safety, sustainability, and environmental stewardship + Willingness to travel extensively to plant sites and engage with stakeholders across North America. **What We Have to Offer:** + Competitive base salary and participation in our annual incentive plan + Competitive benefits program + 401k retirement savings plan with an automatic company contribution as well as matching contributions No Search Firms please. **Employer Statement:** Equal Opportunity Employer - Minority / Female / Veteran / Disabled
