Actual pay will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, proficiency for the role, and internal equity. Kwik Trip Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Refrigeration Compliance Project Manager to lead refrigeration compliance efforts and ensure adherence to federal regulations, including the Clean Air Act and the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act. In this role, you will manage refrigerant-related projects, oversee compliance processes, and support sustainability initiatives. Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance and Oversight
Document and generate annual federal reports for refrigerant-containing appliances.Conduct inspections and audits of refrigeration systems to ensure compliance with EPA standards.Verify refrigeration equipment labeling, monitor repair histories, and ensure timely leak repairs and retrofits.Stay updated on federal, state, and local refrigerant regulations and communicate updates internally.Collaborate with vendors and service providers to maintain compliance with Kwik Trip standards.Project Management and Coordination
Lead and manage refrigerant-related projects, including new installations, retrofits, and upgrades.Coordinate timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure project success.Oversee refrigerant use in construction, remodels, and operational projects.Data Management and Reporting
Maintain detailed records of refrigerant purchases, usage, and appliance service histories.Audit refrigerant tracking software and ensure compliance with EPA guidelines.Ensure compatibility of data across work order and refrigerant management systems.Policy Development and Training
Develop and implement policies to minimize refrigerant leaks and environmental impact.Create transition and retrofit plans to adopt low-GWP refrigerants.Train technicians and staff on refrigerant handling, regulatory compliance, and Section 114 audits.Qualifications
Education and Experience
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability Management, HVAC/R Engineering, Project Management, or related fields.Minimum: Associate degree and 2–4 years of experience in compliance coordination, environmental coordination, sustainability practices, asset management, project management, HVAC/R service, Operations Support, SE Service Desk, or a related field.Certifications
EPA Section 608 certification or ability to obtain certification.Skills and Abilities
Ability to learn refrigeration compliance codes and federal regulations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications such as Outlook, Word, and ExcelUnderstanding of work order systems and refrigerant data tracking software.Exceptional organizational, leadership, and communication skills.Ability to interpret technical drawings, construction plans, and compliance codes.Capacity to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.Flexibility to travel and work outside normal business hours as needed.Work Schedule:
Typically, Monday through Friday daytime hours with occasional evening meetings and overnights. This role requires some travel within Kwik Trip’s operational area. The hours may vary based on the needs/schedules of the Store Engineering Department, with an average work week of approximately 45 hours.
