Refrigeration Supervisor

PRIMARY FUNCTION: Primarily responsible for overseeing the operation of the refrigeration department utilizing proven engineering methods to optimize refrigeration operations while ensuring all work is compliant with company policies, regulatory guidelines and all Federal, State and local legal requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Oversee the day-to-day activities of the refrigeration team responsible for the maintenance and repair of all refrigeration components at the facility ensuring that all systems are in optimal working condition or repaired in the most efficient and cost effective mannerOversee the boiler and refrigeration inspections to ensure all are completed in a timely mannerPartner with internal departments such as Environmental Safety, Operations, Engineering, Product Development and Quality Assurance concerning utility related issues, installation of new equipment, capital projects and/or process improvement initiativesMaintain an accurate and effective parts inventoryPartner with internal departments to determine refrigeration project needs; supervise and support projects from design to commissionIdentify areas for process optimization by determining issues with existing systems; analyze root cause and recommend solutionsEnsure compliance with all safety related aspects of the refrigeration systems in accordance with regulations and codesMentor, coach and train/ cross-train employees encouraging career development; provide consistent feedback concerning strengths and areas in need of improvementPerform additional relevant duties as assignedSUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (select one)
This role is a Leader of People role with required competencies: Sizing up People, Delegation, Planning, Customer Focus and Conflict Management.EDUCATION and CERTIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalentTechnical School certification preferredEXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
Minimum three (3) years’ relevant experience in refrigeration maintenanceDemonstrated two (2) years’ leadership experience including knowledge of timekeeping requirements, policy adherence, conflict resolution and the ability to resolve issues efficiently and effectivelyAbility to communicate professionally and effectively in English (read, write, speak and comprehend) Advance computer skills required.Advanced training in refrigeration and controls.SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:
Follow and ensure others follow departmental and company safety policies and programsWear required protective equipment in all areas where mandatoryPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
