Refrigeration Technician
Position OverviewThe primary purpose of this position is to: Oversee the safe operation, dally monitoring and maintenance of large scale industrial refrigeration systems. Oversee the safe operation, daily monitoring and maintenance of industrial and office HVAC systems. Provide assistance to Manager of Facilities Maintenance to ensure assets (Refrigeration/HVAC/Electrical systems) are managed in accordance with the following: ASHRE (American Society of HVAC and Refrigeration Engineers), ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers), EPA. OSHA and applicable State and Local Codes. This position requires RETA - Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) certification or equivalent experience

You will contribute by:

Oversee Refrigeration, Electrical, and HVAC systems including monitoring and trending, troubleshooting, and repairs (Compressors, condensers, fans, healing, cooling, contactors, motors, microprocessors frequency drives, etc.). Conduct preventive maintenance (P.M.'s) within established timelines (Oil analysis, filter changes, calibration of sensors and transducers), and leak detection.Conduct required inspections and reporting, and implement energy management strategies as outlined by management or corporate refrigeration team. Ensure product integrity is maintained through temperature monitoring & control. Evaluate and report equipment condition. Provide clear and concise communication to Management, etc.Responsible for logging time and materials into the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) daily in the form of work orders, P.M.s, etc. Responsible for communication of all pertinent information regarding system operation and maintenance to departmental management and refrigeration teams. Responsible for housekeeping and clean up of refrigeration machine rooms, refrigeration maintenance areas, and all project areas daily. Required to interpret and understand plans and specifications, schematics operating and maintenance manuals, etc. for systems being overseen.Assist management in developing standard operating procedures, and assisting in the scheduling of repairs and maintenance for refrigeration and HVAC systems. Assist in managing outside mechanical and refrigeration contractors conducting service, repair and new contract work.This position will also assist the building and material handling equipment maintenance teams. Duties will include assisting in general building repairs, electrical troubleshooting and repairs, forklift repair and maintenance, changing and servicing lift batteries, and other general maintenance activities as designated by the Manager of Facility Maintenance.Oversee, maintain, and implement required documents pertaining to the PSM/RMP and all other regulatory programs as designated Manager/Supervisor of Facility Maintenance.

Skills

CFC CertificationGlycol Systems, Computer systems operating platform, HAZMAT, Low Voltage Control SystemsSite inspections, equipment inspections, mechanical repairs, and replacements, all of which require good mobility, physical exertion, walking, bending, reaching, climbing ladders, carrying tools and parts, etc.OSHA Good Manufacturing Processes, PSM, RMP.Candidate will obtain OSHA Level A Hazmat Certification (24 hours, Medical Certification) within 90 days of employment. They must also be able to wear a full-face air-purifying respirator and pass a fit test.Candidate must have or obtain RETA (CARO) Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator) and (CIRO) Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator Certification as experience and certification level permits. This is a prerequisite to attain Refrigeration Technician Level Ill classification.Candidate must be willing to be on call for after-hours refrigeration issues.Review semi-annual service reports and make recommendations for corrective action of all action items.Assist the Corporate Refrigeration Team in annual capital budget planning.Problem-Solving: a) Assessment of issue and impact on business model b) Communicate issue and impact to Maintenance and Facility Management and Senior Director of Corporate Refrigeration c) Co-develop team and plan for immediate issue abatement and remediation d) Co-develop team and plan for final issue abatement and remediation including associated schedule and costs

Years Of Experience

Education (Minimum Needed): Associate 2 years in HVACRRefrigeration/Electrical, Trade School Certification, or equivalent experienceRETA - Certified Assistant Refrigeration Operator (CARO) Certification Required or equivalent experience4 years in Refrigeration/Electrical/HVAC
