See what it's like to work at GROWMARK: https://youtu.be/CSVMnKCySsY * _PURPOSE AND SUMMARY STATEMENT_* Responsible for strengthening the relationship between GROWMARK and FS members via business consulting support. Provides business direction to member cooperatives in assessing, developing, and implementing financial & risk management strategies, which will improve the financial health and vitality of the GROWMARK FS System. Communicates GROWMARK value proposition in order to promote system unity and maximize sales. * _SUPERVISION AND LEADERSHIP_* Supervises, leads and develops the Region Business Managers and Business Administration Manager. * _ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS_* Provides overall direction to all aspects of Region Business Manager job function, including leadership in the development and implementation of related strategies and activities. Effectively communicates these strategies within the Member Resources team and to GMK business units as appropriate. Coordinates activities of direct reports, ensuring appropriate coverage for Illinois and Iowa FS members and other select customers as needed, in order to maximize customer satisfaction and value provided. Works closely with the member cooperative’s general manager, management team and board of directors, and is responsible for relationship management with each. Provides leadership in the implementation of objectives, goals, policies, and practices related to member cooperative business activities that are compatible with those of GROWMARK and drive earned business. Monitors member operating trends and assists with identifying and implementing business operations changes to achieve maximum efficiency and optimum financial performance. Consults with member cooperatives in assessing their short and long-term financial needs and risks, and assists in developing strategic plans to achieve goals which maintain stability and growth. Provides leadership to special studies relating to executive compensation, acquisitions, mergers, consolidations, financing alternatives, facility planning and follow-up on implementation of plans in these areas. Develops and utilizes the annual comparative analysis information with member cooperative boards and management and develops and provides recommendations in the areas needing improvement. Provides assistance to member cooperatives in maximizing the benefits of GROWMARK supported technology offerings and other financial tools, as well as partnering with member cooperatives in areas of process improvement best practices. Provides support to FS Agri Finance staff to enhance the program’s value to the member cooperatives through the development and implementation of local marketing plans using FS Agri-Finance. Understands and clearly communicates the GROWMARK value proposition to both GROWMARK and member audiences in order to increase awareness and promote stronger system unity. Coordinates and plans educational programs for member cooperative leadership, including general managers and management staff audiences, as well as boards of directors. * _OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS_* Assists member cooperatives in assessing their human resource requirements including succession planning needs. Serves as a liaison between member cooperatives and others in GROWMARK Member Resources. including energy marketing, agronomy technology and field training teams. Serves as liaison between the FS Agri-Finance staff, ProPartners Financial lending staff and the member cooperatives to facilitate FSAF program communications, loan activity, administration, monitoring and collections. Follows GROWMARK’s Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program, Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they apply. Performs all other duties as assigned. * _REQUIREMENTS_* Normally requires a bachelor’s degree in business and 6 years or more of related work experience to demonstrate knowledge of business and financial leadership. Prefer GROWMARK System leadership. Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record. Must have the ability to travel independently and overnight as needed. Ability and willingness to participate in required training that may include education on GROWMARK’s policies and procedures and additional training as it relates to the requirements of the position.
