What You Will Do…
As the SOX Compliance Controller, you will:
Manage and coordinate accounting, finance, and financial compliance functions by overseeing the processes and controls for 10 operating companies across WA, OR, ID, and CA.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors and conduct internal trainings.
Manage various reports and participate in month- and year-end close.

Location: This role can be either in office or hybrid, at one of our locations (Salem ,OR; Pacific, WA; Yakima, WA; Wenatchee, WA; Tri-Cities, WA; or Spokane, WA), or remote. Remote candidates must be based out of WA or OR.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related.
6+ years related experience including a strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel.
Proven ability to develop relationships with stakeholders at all levels internally and externally, and to collaborate with teams as both a leader and a participant.
Strong project management skills including the ability to manage projects and prioritize multiple requirements and deadlines.
Effective interpersonal skills, including building rapport, active listening, presenting, and giving/receiving feedback.
High standards of ethics, integrity, and trust, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, being detail and action-oriented with excellent organizational skills and a drive for results.
Self-motivated and able to operate under general guidelines without micromanagement.
The ability to deal with ambiguity and facilitate change.
The ability to motivate and coach others, delegate tasks, build teams, and manage conflicts.
Current authorization to work in the United States and the ability to pass pre-employment controlled-substance testing.
Preferred Qualifications
Accounting experience in the construction and/or manufacturing industry.
CPA, CFE, or CMA.
SQL Query Experience.
Work Requirements:
Must be able to travel to site locations up to 25% of the time.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Acts as a liaison with external and internal auditors; coordinating, organizing, and supporting auditor requests.
Ensures accounting activities are compliant with AMAT, West Division, and Northwest policy, practice, and internal controls (SOX).
Maintains Inventory, SOX and other Internal Control documents, coordinates compliance efforts and provides education and support; Northwest Region Financial Risk, Controls and Compliance Lead.
Monthly fraud and theft reporting.
Managing annual reporting, including, but not limited to: ASC 410-20, mineral reserves reporting, census reporting, property management system updates, OFI reporting.
Oversight of region’s aggregate and ready-mix inventory, including review of monthly inventory balances and reserves, annual procedures (physical inventory, standard costs, etc.), inventory system maintenance
SOFY Internal Controls Software Lead for the Northwest Region – requires managing the software for changes and updates to hierarchy, controls, control performers; and ensuring all controls are completed timely and uploaded into the software
Proactis Management Console Administrator – requires managing the structure for our PO, Invoicing system, such as setting up new companies, updating coding structure, troubleshooting issues
Assists with monthly financial close and reporting activities.
Assists in the preparation and management review of monthly financial statements, annual budgets, and re-forecasts.
Performs/reviews balance sheet reconciliations.
Performs special reporting and analysis, as needed
Play a key role in acquisition setup, integration, and reporting.
Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting staff, providing oversight and direction as needed, including hands-on assistance as appropriate; and to further their development and strengthen the finance organization.
Proactively seeks, communicates, and participates in process improvement opportunities.
Champions efforts to improve working capital.
Travel throughout the NW Region as needed.
