The Regional Account Manager (RAM) position is within our Complement Franchise, a division of Alexion and will focus on aHUS. The RAM will be assigned a sales territory focused on Academic Centers and Hospital Systems hospitals, private practices, and infusion centers, primarily focused on Nephrology. This individual would be responsible for the growth and expansion of aHUS Complement portfolio
You will be responsible for:
Consistently achieving or exceeding sales objectives in assigned territory
Creating and maintaining strategically targeted account-specific business plans that reflect an in-depth understanding of local market forces impacting product sales
Developing and maintaining strong in-depth clinical, technical, and scientific knowledge
Collaborating closely with stakeholders, including PNH Regional Account Manager(s), TLL(s), SAL(s), MSL(s), FRM(s), PEM(s), Market Access, Diagnostics, and enterprise partners
The ability to handle customer questions and objections in a way that is consistent with product indications and sales training methodology, including ability to compliantly triage inquiries to appropriate partner
Demonstrating the ability to educate on the clinical approach to disease states, leading to a successful differential diagnosis and appropriate testing of patient populations
Being trained to understand and demonstrate proper use of products to clinicians in a hospital environment
Leading the implementation for our patient-centric partnership model which will include physicians, their staff, patients, clinics, and hospitals
Tracking activities and submitting reports on sales activities accurately & on-time
The execution of local promotional activities and programs for therapeutic areas
Providing a high level of product expertise and customer service to all accounts
Being an effective administrator who efficiently manages time, CRM tool, resources, and workload
Proactively interacting with Alexion management to refine product and market initiatives
Performing work in alignment with and adhering to all Alexion’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct and Alexion policies and procedures
Demonstrating the ability to educate on the clinical approach to the disease states leading to a successful differential diagnosis and appropriate testing and treatment of patient population
You will need to have:
Bachelor’s degree
6 years Biotechnology/Pharmaceutical sales experience, including 3 years biotechnology/Pharmaceutical sales experience calling on Academic Centers, community hospital systems, private practices/clinics
Proven, documented track record for delivering consistent, 'Top-tier' sales results in Institutions and hospital systems
Ability to work effectively independently and in an interdependent, team-oriented environment on a consistent basis
Strong clinical and account selling, analytical and strategic skills to develop accounts
Demonstrated ability to successfully seek out and qualify leads and profile new accounts
Ability to gain consistent access & develop strong, professional relationships for scientific exchange and promotion with healthcare providers in community and academic centers
Effective verbal and written communication skills and organizational abilities
Must live in the geographic territory or live within 50 miles of the geographic territory border
Ability to travel within territory on a regular basis which will include frequent overnight and weekend travel
Valid driver's license and clean driving record

We would prefer for you to have:
Advanced or master’s degree
Sales experience in the orphan or ultra-orphan area
Nephrology and/or Hematology experience.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $152,813 to $229,219. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
