Regional Account Manager, gMG, Chicago W, IL

This is what you will do:

The Regional Account Manager, gMG, Chicago, IL manages and develops long-term relationships with assigned physicians, extended prescribers, and other customers in the assigned territory. The Individual will represent the assigned Alexion brands and their approved indications; provide disease and product education to external customers such as physicians, nurses, etc. in order to help patients.

You will be responsible for:

Consistently achieves or exceeds sales objectives in assigned territory operating with the highest level of organizational ethics and compliant business practicesCreates, maintains, and executes strategic account-specific business plans reflecting the brand plan and an in-depth understanding of local market forcesCollaborate closely with stakeholders, including Institutional Account Manager(s), TLL(s), SAL(s), MSL(s), FRM(s), Market Access, Diagnostics, and other respective Enterprise partnersRequires the ability to handle customer questions and objections in a way that is consistent with product indications and sales training methodology, including ability to compliantly triage inquiries to appropriate partnersDevelops and maintains in-depth disease and therapeutic clinical, and scientific knowledgeDemonstrates high competence in educating on the disease’s diagnostic approach leading to an effective patient diagnosisProven ability to navigate complex hospital setting (academic and community) to access targeted HCP and other key stakeholders.Appropriately utilizes all marketing tools and resources including power point presentations to further the selling process across all customer stakeholdersLeads the implementation for our patient-centric partnership model which will include physicians, their staff,  clinics, and applicable hospitalsExecutes local disease education and promotional programs for therapeutics areaProvides a high level of product expertise and customer service to all targeted accounts and appropriate stakeholdersTracks activities and submits reports on sales activities accurately & on-timeEffective time management and prioritization skill.  A self-starter.Excellent written and verbal skills.

You will need to have:

Bachelor’s degree requiredProven documented track record of delivering consistent “Top-tier” sales results5 years pharmaceutical sales or Equivalent Experience (e.g., Biotech or Medical Device) Neurology experience strongly preferred, especially:Building relationships with physicians referring, diagnosing and/or treating neuromuscular disorders in some high complexity institutions, community hospitals, satellite sites, and private practices.Where appropriate, building relationships with healthcare professionals working in locations that administer 1) Infused therapies and/or 2) Apheresis for immunological disordersDemonstrated success educating physicians about:Complex diseases diagnosed mainly through observations/exclusion rather than simple diagnostic testsDiverse patient disease profiles which do not lend themselves to simple segmentation and categorization for treatment decisionsAbility to build and/or strengthen lasting relationships with providers in physician practices and hospitals where access may be challengingManage territory budget and adhere to Alexion code of ethics and complianceAbility to travel within territory on a regular basis which will include frequent overnight and weekend travelValid driver’s license and clean driving recordThe duties of this role are generally conducted in a field environment.  As is typical of a field-based role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: travel by public transportation, automobile, train, or plane; work comfortably in a clinical setting; use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; problem solve; engage in complex and non-linear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours.  

We would prefer for you to have:

Masters in Life Sciences or MBA a plusBio/pharma; Neurology and/or Ophthalmology experienceNavigate and work large Hospital systems, IDNs, and academic teaching hospitals

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $146,000 to $219,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
