Position Summary
The regional business controllership and risk management role involves managing financial performance, budgeting, and reporting for South East Asia & Oceania (SEAO) subsidiaries by identifying cost drivers, and creating presentations for management.The role also requires aggregating data to generate sales and profit reports, evaluating business KPIs, and managing marketing expenses. Additionally, the role involves establishing allocation factors, liaising with subsidiary teams, and managing team MBOs.
The risk management aspect includes routine audit reporting, ad-hoc project management, consolidating entity results, designing internal controls testing, and coordinating with external auditors. The position may require performing audit planning and process reviews on an ad-hoc basis.
Role and Responsibilities
Business Controlling role :
Generate data and monitor Regional and local subsidiaries budget and expenditure planning, reporting on the variance on monthly basisPerson in charge of financial performance analysis, identify cost drivers and explain variances from rolling forecastsExtract insight from reports, generate commentaries and create PowerPoint Presentations for Management reportingAggregate large data sets from subsidiaries across Southeast Asia to create sales & profit, overhead reports etcIn charge of company and subsidiaries level all business KPI performance evaluations, make simulation, find out the reasons for low achievements and method to increaseManage internal regional marketing expense process from annual & project budget approvals, vendor selection approach and contract review to drive cost efficiencies and ensure process compliance throughout all marketingPartner with stakeholders across business units (ex: accounting, business unit, marketing and product teams) for regional marketing expense planning and execution processEstablish and apply allocation factors/methodology for proper allocation of regional office cost to local subsidiariesActively liaise with subsidiary teams and regional product managers to uncover P&L variancesManage each team MBO periodically, track their KPI for performance bonus settings for regional office and partner with HR to calculate payoutRisk management role :
The position is an experienced hire position for a mixture of routine audit reporting and adhoc project management dutiesConsolidate and inquire entities PIC on exceptions and results noted for monthly, quarterly and half yearly reporting. Information under review will include financial reconciliations such as cash, inventories, AR and AP, operational exceptions specific to Samsung operations and review of internal policies/standard operating procedures adopted by HQDesign & Operating internal controls testing, manage test status and completion within given timeframe by identify gaps and weakness within business processes through system data and provide recommendations to rectify/enhance business processes’ effectiveness and effienciencyWorking with external auditors to coordinate and support external audit process partnering with subsidiaries and play a leading role in ensuring smooth operation of countries reporting to this regionNavigate through multiple systems as required in performing day to day tasks. Download data and share with overseas country using NERP (SAP)Perform audit planning and process review on adhoc basis (30%) to regional subsidiaries in Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Audit projects may be performed remotely or overseas depending on the taskSkills and Qualifications
Degree holder, preferred in Business, Finance, Accounting etc.Ability to speak/write/comprehend business English Min. 5-10 years of experience Budgetting & Internal controls Strong MS Office Skills is a must (Word, Excel, PPT), SAP systemGood analytical skills, High accuracy and sensitive to numberAble to work independently with minimal supervisionGood and effective interpersonal skills to communicate across various levels of stakeholdersCulture Fit & Behavioral Competencies:
