Job Description
The Regional Business Unit Leader for Surgical Devices is the commercial leader for the Surgical Devices Business Unit (SDBU) within the United States. The individual in this role is accountable for establishing an effective go-to-market strategy and structure to deliver significant and profitable sales growth through the deployment of the Global Business Strategies and achieving the objectives set for the US region relative primarily to the Advanced Surgical Energy portfolio for Olympus. They will lead the Sales & Marketing functions for the SDBU ensuring proper cross-BU collaboration with other BUs, specifically the Surgical Endoscopy business and others as appropriate. They will also represent the needs and interests of the US market within the Global SDBU management structure.
Job Duties Accountable for the development and execution of short and long-term commercial strategies & business plans (Sales & Marketing) to enable Regional execution of the Global strategic goals and objectives for the Surgical Devices Business Unit, driving increase market share and business profitability. Accountable for the direct management of the Surgical Devices Sales Leadership, Directors of Strategic Accounts, and Marketing within the United States. Accountable for delivering the revenue and profit results in accordance with the overall Global BU objectives for the Surgical Devices Business Unit within the United States. Measures and analyses revenue cost and profit data to improve business and to protect the interest of the Olympus stake holders. Establishes business budgets and maintains budgetary control throughout assigned business functions. Mentors’ guides and coaches’ direct reports to expand their capabilities and build management depth in the organization. Oversees the successful implementation of the performance management programs within the Surgical Devices Business Unit to link individual performance to organization goals. Develops appropriate succession plans for key roles within the organization. Ensures the availability of resources and information necessary to support and operate the commercial and business plans. Develops and maintains effective customer relationships with healthcare professionals to maintain and strengthen core business relations and promote market growth. Identifies actual or potential issues related to business growth and leads team members to develop suitable action plans to resolve issues. Provides adequate guidelines to team members for organizing workshops training seminars and trade shows to demonstrate the application and use of products to potential customers. Performs other related duties as assigned. Job QualificationsRequired:
BA/BS preferred in Business Management, Marketing, Physical Sciences, Business Computer Science, or Engineering. MBA preferred. Minimum of ten (10) years of work experience in senior management levels in FDA regulated health care or medical device industries. Significant experience in the management of selling and marketing single-use surgical devices including demonstrated understanding and experience with selling to GPOs, IDNs and other contracting entities for single-use devices. Extensive experience in managing sales revenue plans and operating expense plans as a key business leader. Experience in successfully developing and executing Strategic and Commercial Business Plans for surgical devices within the United States. Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent presentation skills and public speaking ability Strong understanding of business financial management (P&L) Strong capabilities with Microsoft Office and other business applications Domestic and International travel up to 75%

The anticipated base pay range for this full-time position working at this location is $178,425.00 - $285,480.00 / year, plus potential for annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements). Olympus considers a variety of factors when determining actual compensation for this position including: level of experience, working location, and relevant education and certifications.
