All while understanding that **_together_** we are even better. **Schedule:** Full-time **Shift:** Days **Location:** AdventHealth Daytona Beach – 301 Memorial Medical Parkway, Daytona Beach, FL 32117 **The role you’ll contribute:** The Regional Clinical Process Improvement Specialist is a qualified individual who, under the general direction of the Regional Executive Director, will provide project management and clinical analytic support to high priority cost and effectiveness initiatives throughout the system. The Process Improvement Specialist is tasked with identifying inefficiencies in healthcare delivery services and solutions to re-engineer systems to improve the access, quality, and cost of care for beneficiaries and the organization. This role will primarily focus on process analysis, time and cost studies, process simulation, process and productivity improvement in the clinical setting. The Regional Clinical Process Improvement Specialist may work independently and within multidisciplinary teams toward the execution and implementation of projects directed at improving operational efficiencies for patient safety and highly reliable learning systems. The position is responsible for providing a planned, systemic approach to identifying, designing, measuring and monitoring process improvement activities. The specialist has a comprehensive understanding of data and analytic tools as well as health care information systems and technology with an advanced ability to apply these methodologies to extrapolate data, analyze and report in a meaningful format to inform and drive local and division performance improvement activities. Functions as the local project liaison between engineering and the local clinical teams for Lower the Cost and Improve the Product initiatives. Functions as a key member of the strategic project and safety teams. Supports project development, coordination, and evaluation efforts. Specific functions include tool design, customer database programming, clinical and cost data extraction, analysis and reporting. **The value you’ll bring to the team:** + Provides a weekly summary of project progress and learnings to the Executive Director for the communication cascade to hospital executives and front-line staff + Assesses the needs for performance improvement across the region and evaluates and recommends prioritization in light of projects and workloads at the hospitals. + Works as partners with hospital-based performance improvement team members as well as with other team members throughout the system. + Helps to develop a regional performance improvement plan with communication pathways. + Demonstrates commitment to patient safety and protecting patients and providers by advocating safe practices and policies + Facilitates use of data to identify opportunities to improve clinical outcomes, prevent events with the potential to negatively impact patient care, promote a culture of patient safety and improve hospital processes + Utilizes and maintains computer applications and databases. Writes queries, analyzes and reports in multiple programs, not limited to: Premier, NDNQI, Hospital Financial Reports, PowerBI, EPIC (Power Insight) and MS Access. Stays abreast of new technologies in order to optimize data analysis and reporting including any new databases acquired. + Develops reports to effectively communicate findings. Utilizes full range of software tools to optimize reporting and dissemination of data and results. Highly skilled in graphic rendition of information. Able to professionally deliver results in writing or verbally. Presentation of information is clear, concise, and tailored to the level of the user with complete and accurate data. + Develops the analytic and measurement strategy for all projects undertaken including development of key metrics, identification of data sources and collection of baseline data + Utilizes Value Stream Mapping, 5S/7S, Visual Workplace, and other tools to identify gaps in quality delivery, labor efficiency, and throughput + Considers the financial implications, safety implications, and clinical outcomes when making recommendations, evaluating technology and products, and developing policies and procedures + Incorporates fiscal assessments into program evaluations and/ or reports + Collaborates with management, consultants and process engineers to determine resource/staffing needs for a particular project and maintain accountability for managing the resources and deliverables for specific projects **The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed** **:** **Minimum qualifications** : + Associate's Degree in Nursing or Healthcare related field + Current State of Florida or Multistate license as a Registered Nurse + Knowledge of data extrapolation interpretation, and control chart compilation + Experience in data collection, analysis, quality assurance, or computer programming + Ability to program, such as VBA or statistical programming + Facilitation of various PI methodologies (Six Sigma, Lean, PDSA, etc.) **Preferred qualifications:** + Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, or Healthcare related field + 3 years’ experience in data analytics/process improvement OR healthcare setting + Change Management Certification + Team STEPPS Certification + LEAN Performance Improvement Certification + Six Sigma Performance Improvement Certification This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.
