Role Overview:

The Regional Supplier Quality Engineer ensures electronic products comply with safety and quality standards. Responsibilities include defining and meeting qualification requirements (PPAP) for new projects, performing supplier audits, resolving quality issues, and using Otis quality tools and procedures. The role is based in Spain and requires 40% to 60% travel and frequent communication with suppliers, internal customers, and various Otis functions.

Responsibilities:

Manage suppliers with periodic audits and assessments.

Participate in sourcing projects and new product development to ensure product quality.

Lead timely resolution of supplier claims to achieve KPIs.

Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Field functions.

Apply industry standards to ensure product quality.

Use Otis quality tools and follow company policies and procedures.

Record progress and results in Otis electronic systems.

Report regularly to regional/global Management.

Negotiate necessary actions with external suppliers.

Propose quality improvements for Otis products.

Qualifications - Education/Experience:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree (preferred) in electronics or electrical engineering.

2+ years of experience in the electronics industry in an industrial/engineering company.

Experience in quality area including quality issues resolution

Knowledge of electronic industry standards and components, preferably confirmed with official certifications (IPC-A-610 endorsement (CIS, CIT/MIT))

Collaboration/Inclusion: Demonstrates teamwork and effective cooperation with other functions and external companies, valuing others' opinions and ideas.

Analytical/Imagination: Translates complex data into simple solutions, solves quality issues using data and quality tools (SPC charts, 8-D analysis, Ishikawa diagrams), leads audits, and reads component and product drawings.

Communication Skills/Empathy: Exhibits excellent communication skills, engages effectively with management and peers, fluent in English with industry technical vocabulary. Negotiation skills are an advantage.
