ABOUT THE JOB

The Regional Communications Consultant is an individual contributor role reporting to a Senior Communications Manager within Key’s Corporate Communications Department.  This position acts as a collaborative partner to an assigned line of business (LOB) and/or functional area/s (client group) by providing effective communications support including: the development of integrated communication plans, identifying and executing internal and external opportunities to tell Key’s story at the market/regional level, managing media issues and driving earned media, drafting and editing documents for a targeted employee population, and providing communications support for change management activity and incident response. Under general supervision, success criteria include: ability to develop and implement communication plans that align with the business objectives of assigned business area; timely and effective handling of daily requests and establishing reputation as an accessible, approachable and responsive team member of client LOB and/or functional area/s.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Act as knowledgeable business partner providing effective communications support to assigned LOB and/or functional area:

Partner with client to analyze communication needs, determine objectives and design effective communication strategiesConsult with business partners to proactively identify and drive employee communications that align with Key’s overall strategyDeliver strategic communications using established protocols that connect emloyees with business strategies, resources, tools, policies and procedures that they need to do their jobsUtilize expertise in writing skills to draft critical communications for targeted employee audienceDevelop messaging and senior leader talking points to support business area objectivesProvide communications support for change management activity and incident response as neededCommunications are consistent, cohesive and link to overall strategyCommunications Consultant is viewed as knowledgeable partner and relied upon for subject matter expertiseEmployees are provided with the information, tools and resources needed to perform at a high level

Develop and execute on integrated communication plans and strategies for assigned LOB and/or functional area:

Consult and coordinate the communication needs of client group to create comprehensive, high-impact plans that inform and engage employees, educate and build awareness and help improve business performanceUnderstand and stay informed of LOB/functional area strategy and direction; adapt communication plan and deliverables as appropriateDevelop, prioritize and adapt project timelines and communication schedules to meet business needsDeliver on communications output in timely and accommodating mannerClient needs and requests are met in timely fasion; on-time deliverablesMessaging is connected to business initiatives within client area as well enterprise-wide objectivesEmployees feel compelled to change critical behaviors and strengthen Key’s culture to deliver a consistent, quality client experience

Promote and protect Key’s brand and reputation:

Leverage completed strategic messaging that supports regional goals and objectives. Develop messaging that supports proactive or reactive communications activities. Support maintaining/strengthening existing media relationships; expand relationships or knowledge of emerging media (online, social, etc); provide share of voice into the development of ongoing social media strategies. Ensure consistent messaging and delivery of foundational messaging.Mitigate risk of reputational threats.Stronger market perception and awareness.- Broader reach to critical and new constituents.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelors degree in Communications or related field3-5 years minimum relevant experience in communications, public/media relations, content creaton and/or journalismDemonstrated written and oral communication skills; proficiency in visual storytelling, editorial and proofreading abilityProven ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced, deadlie oriented environment under general supervision from managerAbility to produce high-quality communications materials with attention to detailDemonstrated flexibility and adaptability in order to accomplish goals in evolving business environmentAbility to effectively collaborate; proven track record of solid relationship-buildingHighly motivated and team-oriented self-starterProven comfort level/experience working with mid to senior level management

Experience in financial services industry

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $80,000 to $90,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
