Founded in 1990, U.S. Physical Therapy, Inc. operates over 700 outpatient physical therapy clinics in 42 states. Our clinics provide preventative and post-operative care for various orthopedic-related disorders and sports-related injuries, treatment for neurologically related injuries, and rehabilitation of injured workers.

 

It is an exhilarating time of growth for USPh, and we are currently hiring a Regional Controller to join our growing company. As an individual contributor, the Regional Controller is a key member of the accounting and operations teams, overseeing the accounting and financial reporting function for a specific region of the U.S., reporting to the Corporate Controller, with a secondary reporting relationship to the Regional President of Operations.

 

You will ensure accuracy and completeness of financial statements for the clinics in their regions, including the income statement, balance sheet and tracking of cash. Additionally, you will prepare various financial, operational, and metric analyses for their clinics, and assist in the preparation of the annual regional budget. You will partner with areas across the business, including the partner & directors of clinics, revenue cycle management team, accounts payable, cash management, corporate accounting, IT, and executive management.

 

The role is based at our corporate headquarters in West Houston, TX (remote candidates are not being considered). You will be in the office 5 days/week during training and 3 days/week afterwards.

 

Job Duties:

Deliver accurate and timely reporting to accounting management, operations management, and internal auditors.Review financial results, report variances, and provide leadership with information that enhances their understanding of the financial resultsSupport internal stakeholders with various ad hoc analysesPrepare financial statements for all the clinics in the regionCalculate and record bonuses for the clinic leaders in their region.Review clinic invoices for coding, proper authorization, and approve for paymentAnalyze billing reports for aging, individual account collections, and days outstandingReview financial, operational and metric trends (visits, net rate per visit, payroll rate per visit and margin rates) for reasonableness and provide explanations for changesRespond to clinic’s inquires and requests for informationEducate clinic partners on all aspects of their financial statementsSupport M&A activity in their region

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.8+years accounting experience (prior public accounting experience a plus) in a corporate environment, ideally within organizations with multiple entities.CPA is preferred but not required.High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong ERP systems experience, Great Plains experience preferred.Experience with multi-jurisdictional businesses, internal controls, and SOX complianceExcitement around navigating a high growth, rapidly changing, and sometimes ambiguous environmentProven experience developing cross-functional relationships, which will be key for the success of this positionProficient in interacting with and creating a collaborative working environment amongst stakeholders at all levels of the organization
