Regional Director of Dining Services
The ideal candidate will live in or around Atlanta, GA or in the Colorado Area. Must be willing to travel 80% of the time. 

Purpose

The REGIONAL DIRECTOR OF DINING SERVICES oversees development and implementation of Century Park’s dining services objectives; trains and supports communities and Dining Service Directors nationwide to achieve excellence in dining services at each community in accordance with all laws, regulations and company standards. Position drives excellence in the overall Dining Services Program. Reports to Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President.

Working Conditions

• Works primarily in dining services areas (e/g/ kitchens, dining rooms)

• Subject to frequent interruptions

• Works beyond normal working hours, on weekends, and in other positions temporarily as necessary

• Subject to falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc. during community visits

• Possible exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including exposure to AIDS and Hepatitis B viruses

Education and Experience

• Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in related field from accredited college (or equivalent experience)

• Must have five (5) or more years of successful, hands-on management in food services, preferably in the hospitality-focused

• senior housing industry

• Prior multi-site experience preferred

• Must have prior experience as successful trainer in Dining Services

• Must be knowledgeable of food service regulations (Federal, State and Local)

Specific Requirements

• Must be willing and able to travel extensively, 80% to serve communities on –site (expectation is 4 days of 5 days per week

• in communities)

• Must enjoy serving seniors

• Must demonstrate effective communication skills with staff, residents, families, vendors, and community leadership

• Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action

• Must be knowledgeable of dining services best practices as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing such

• functions in the senior services industry

• Must have the ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the dining

• services department

• Must demonstrate traits of results-oriented, creativity, and enthusiasm

• Must maintain the confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information

• Must have expert knowledge in field of practice

• Must be proficient with Windows, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel), Outlook and internet-based programs

• Maintains professional working relationships with all associates, residents, families, vendors, etc.

• Must understand and follow company policies including harassment and compliance procedures

• Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Century Park’s Code of Ethics and completes all required compliance training

Primary Job ResponsibilitiesBelow is a description of basic job duties though other related duties may become necessary as directed by supervisor 

• Plans, develops, organizes, implements and evaluates Dining Services program for each community nationwide

• Trains and develops Dining Services Directors in all areas of dining services including menus, diets, supply ordering,

• planning, events, staffing, customer service, and scheduling

• Measures improvements in dining services efforts

• Maintains effective communication between communities and corporate office

• Supports communities to achieve Dining Services excellence

• Ensures Century Park Dining Services programs are implemented successfully at each community.

• Makes contributions by giving direction, vision and strategy to assist in achieving dining excellence in senior living services in the area.

• Actively participates in events

• Assists each community in maintaining a positive image in the greater community

Hospitality Focus

• Ensures Dining Service Directors and departmental staff perform all duties with a hospitality focus, meeting and exceeding resident requests and needs

Operating Margin

• Assists Directors with managing labor and resources in accordance with forecasted budget

Occupancy

• Supports and assists communities to achieve and maintain occupancy goals through consistent excellence in Dining

Talent/Staffing

• Actively supports the interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, supervision, and development of Dining Services Directors and dining associates

• Provides guidance related to staffing, hiring, training and counseling for department staff, ensures uniform compliance

• Actively encourages staff retention programs, including timely evaluations and GEM program

Essential Functions

• Must be able to plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, benchmark, and direct the overall Dining Services program to ensure Dining Services goals are achieved

• Must ensure community is compliant with all Federal, State, local, requirements

• Must serve as effective representative for Century Park in the surrounding community

• Must effectively supervise, guide and train Dining Service Directors, and step in as acting DSD when necessary

• Must exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude

• Must demonstrate dependable, regular attendance

• Must be able to concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment

• Must be able to communicate and function productively on an interdisciplinary team
