Roles & Responsibilities:

Profitability & Risk Mitigation

Responsible for all WC/GL claims in over 25+ clubs.Aides in the initial collection of statements and documentation for all incidents/accidents involving team members and/or members.Identifies trends and root-causes to continuously improve and coach best practices as it related to safety.Partners closely with all clubs to determine best plan of action to address trends within their building and validates actions plans are providing results.Implements best practices as it relates to proper and efficient chemical usage.Trains and educates team on chemical knowledge.Monitors chemical usage and ordering to minimize over-ordering.Monitors PPE utilization to ensure team member safety.Follow up on all accidents real time gathering all relevant information with partnership of Investigations team to limit BJs liability.Advises on level of accountability by partnering with HR business partners as needed base on unsafe acts performed by team members.Reviews trends at regional level to improve overall safety within region.Conducts Risk Assessments in each club in assigned region focusing on Safety & Food Safety, following up on clubs opportunities and putting key strategies in place to correct.Key stakeholder in Bottom Quartile program for WC/GL working closely with RDO and CMs.Monitors charge out reports and incident rate reports monthly to ensure clubs are properly charged and actions are taken to address all trends to reduce company liability.Responsible for handling all regulatory visits, ensuring all opportunities are addressed so that clubs remain in compliance and minimize chance of fines and violations.

Safety – Available and On-Call 24 hours/7 days a week supporting the following:

Responds and investigates all accidents occurring in club locations to determine root cause and analysis, once determined set action plan, train and follow up.Conduct rapid response investigation for all forklift accidents to determine mitigating factors and swift training and accountability (RDO, RFSS, HRBP) .Lead zoom calls with RDO, RFSS, HRBP to ensure proper retraining and accountability is followed through.Monitor and review all safety checklists are being conducted accurately and all opportunities are being addressed timely.Conduct club steel walks to identify potential hazards and implement immediate action to fix permanently.Zoom calls trainings with zone leads/ night managersEarly morning trainings with night team on proper steel safetyDetermine root cause of damaged uprights /track to ensure they are replacing in a timely mannerTire bay video validation and investigations to help prevent wheel offsWeekly forklift video validation to create awareness of unsafe driving before accidents happenWeekly APS training calls focused on Food & SafetyWeekly follow up on all LPMS cases for proper documentation  Handle OSHA complaints ensuring clubs are following policy and will pass an OSHA inspection Emergency walks with clubs to ensure they are ready for an OSHA visit when there has been a complaint or an OSHA RecordablePull and analyze safety trends weekly and educate the clubs on mitigation strategiesPull training reports weekly and formulate plans to impact exception clubsWeekly bottom quartile calls to ensure clubs understand trends and are adjusting action plansValidate that all regions and clubs have Crown Trainers in place to maintain our forklift teams certifications/ Schedule classes where needed/ Maintain an accurate listIdentifying new Leaders and scheduling time to spend with new in role managers in 25+ locations

Food Safety - Available and On-Call 24 hours/7 days a week supporting the following:

Responds to all power outages and refrigeration issues 24/7 impacting over 25+ club region, Key focus on product protection from start to finish.Instruct and directs club on product protection strategies during the refrigeration crisis.Ensure the club understands how to temp product (check in on club to validate every step until crisis is over).Ensure the product does not stay in the temp danger zone for more than 4 hours.Responsible for making decisions regarding protecting the company from loss such as requesting a reefer truck, or rotating product in a freezer to bring temps down to safe levels.Responsible for assisting the clubs with proper procedures regarding 30-minute temp logs to validate to health departments that we have a procedure in place.Conduct routine visits monitoring perishable areas food safety standards, immediately responding to 911 issues.Find root cause (video validation)Conduct all required knowledge-based retrainingValidate all issues were addressed timelyTrainings with Fresh Managers/Meat ManagersEnsure clubs are ordering and using the proper chemicals during visitsBuild and maintain partnership with all Federal / Local Government agencies to proactively pass all health department visits Follow up on member food complaints and recalls mitigating BJs liability exposureFresh trax compliance and trainingInvestigations on Dan Foss calls and cold chain due to product lossResponsible for the chemical vendor ensuring they are servicing clubs timelyMonitor and Proctor ServSafe certifications and facilitate classes to certify leadership throughout the year maintaining regulatory complianceResponsible for assisting clubs in recalling grinds due to contamination at club level.Investigating to find root cause (interviews, video validation)Accountability and follow upResponsible for ensuring the clubs understands proper receiving of perishable trucksAvailable 24/7 for clubs if product on truck is not temping correctlyRFSS will work with club and transportation to ensure product is safeAssisting the club what can be discardedInvestigating the root cause of product coming in not at product temp

Pest Mitigation

Work closely with Ecolab vendors on all pest prevention and elimination strategiesConduct routine club inspections proactively identifying and correcting pest infestationsOrganized and lead TMs and Ecolab in overnight pest clean outs to remove and prevent future infestationsConduct pest calls with risk clubs to track weekly progress and course correct on assigned action plansWeekly follow ups on all Ecolab visits from the portal on pest activityWorks closely with facilities on all work orders for pest clubs to ensure they are completedWork closely with health departments on complaints and follow up to keep BJs locations open for businessConsistent training on proper pallet pull in pest clubs when neededPerishable Cleaning Process (CMs, Fresh Managers, Meat Managers)RFSS / Perishable Specialist partnership trainingsRFSS/RAPM trainings

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is starting from $98,500.00.
