Job Details

As the region’s lead competent person for Health and Safety, you will ensure all offices comply with current Health and Safety legislation and Approved Codes of Practice. You will work proactively with H&S delegates to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of safe working practices across the region. 

Primary responsibilities

Monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practice, providing recommendations and implementing new policies and procedures as required by each country’s local regulation.Carry out safety training needs anaylsis and ensure adequate training programmes are in place where necessary.Support managers to maintain safe systems, providing specialist advice, coaching and practical support, advising on a range of specialist areas, e.g. fire regulations, hazardous substances.Carry out site inspections and report shortcomings to the relevant manager.Ensure adequate risk assessments and regular reviews as well as regular inspection and maintenance of all office buildings and equipmentInvestigate and follow-up on recorded accidents, incidents and near misses.Deal with specialist consultants to develop and implement safe systems of work, SOPs and/or local porcedures.Assist with the implementation of a global health and safety management systemKeep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all legislation.

Your profile

Solid working experience in Health &Safety and excellent understanding of relevant legislationDiploma/Bachelor's Degree Program or Nebosh diplomaGood communication skills in English paired with the ability to provide relevant information on request  Ability to follow procedures & instructions with strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to prioritize workloadSelf-motivated and friendly team player who knows how to take initiativeRemains calm under pressure - dependable, reliable and trustworthyFlexible attitude – for working shifts and last-minute coverage where necessaryKnowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
