Your Role
As a member of the regional senior management team, the Regional Human Resource Director as primary responsibility for partnering with, and providing leadership and support to regional, office and studio leaders in all areas related to the management and development of our people. Additionally, this position has direct responsibility for leading, coaching, and developing a team of HR professionals and HR administrators/coordinators in offices throughout the Europe region.
What You Will Do
Regional HR Leadership
Provide strategic HR leadership to the regional leadership team and input to firm-wide HR initiatives.Contribute to the ongoing development of Gensler’s HR policies, programs, and processes, in collaboration with the HR leadership team across the firm.Participate in the development and implementation of short-term and long-range business plans for the company as it relates to our people.Develop and execute strategic and tactical plans to support a healthy, sustainable, high performance culture, and ensure that business objectives and HR strategy and initiatives are linked.Integrate Gensler’s culture into regional programs, policies and processes.Develop and drive key HR processes, best practices, programs and initiatives across the European region, which support the overall business objectives of the firm.Anticipate and effectively deal with industry, market, customer, and social trends that enhance business opportunities or adversely impact business results.Continue to expand knowledge of employment laws in the UK and Europe to support the limitation of liability for Gensler.Learning and Leadership Development
Perform assessment of leadership skills, identify gaps, and recommend programs to address needs and opportunities.Contribute to the development of firm-wide learning initiatives; implement and facilitate learning and leadership development programs and processes within the region.Act as Human Resources subject matter expert, course developer, proto-type tester, and classroom instructor for learning experiences initiated by Firmwide and delivered within the regions.Maintain and oversee the on-boarding and orientation process for new hires throughout the region.Recruiting
Conduct workforce analysis and planning for the region and, in conjunction with other HR leaders, for the firm.Monitor and maintain best practices in recruitment and selection across the region.Talent Management
Coordinate with Firmwide HR and other regional HR leaders to conduct relevant workplace surveys.Facilitate identification of high potential employees, growth opportunities, and other development activities.Recommend appropriate options and assist leaders and managers in handling developmental reviews and terminations.Facilitate implementation of management and leadership development systems, including career development, performance management, feedback and coaching, promotion and succession planning processes.Ensure compliance with Gensler policies within the region.Coordinate with legal staff on employee relations and legal compliance issues.HRIS
Ensure that appropriate measurements and reports are produced and analysed on an on-going basis, to facilitate proactive decision-making.Ensure system/database updates and data integrity.Work collaboratively with Firmwide HR to streamline and/or automate processes; improve customer service, reduce paper flow, and improve human resources data management.Benefits & Compensation
Point person for all issues concerning HR Laws, Benefits, Retirement Plans, Payroll for Uk and European offices. Develop and drive recognition programs and associated events planning.Advise and counsel management on salary administration.Regularly review and analyse compensation data for internal equity and external competitiveness.Work with leadership team to implement and manage base salary determinations and annual bonuses.Ensure the total compensation strategy effectively addresses regional market demands in support of on-going recruitment and retention.Management and Supervision
Hire, manage, train, mentor, coach, evaluate and develop regional HR staff.Recommend employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive work environment, promote a high level of morale and resolve employee relations issues.Ensure all immigration and visa requests are handled appropriately.Ensure compliance with each country’s local regulatory requirements, as well as company equal opportunity programs and diversity goals.Your Qualifications
Proven thought leaders with more than 15 years related professional experience in HRCIPD qualified or equivalentSound legislative knowledge of UK employment law. Knowledge of French, German or other European countries employment law would be advantageous.Hands on leader who works closely with team to complete projects, address issues and creates a cohesive team environment within their office and regionStrong management capabilities with the ability to lead and inspireStrong interpersonal communications skills and flexibilityAbility to assess and diagnose employment issues, quickly and confidently deciding the best course of action out of a range of possible solutionsStrong business acumen; extensive skill in thinking strategically and tactically; proven ability to see beyond the specific interests of the Human Resources function to the broader picture, understanding the significance of his/her decisions as they affect the firmLife at Gensler
