As a Regional Manager, Mobile Mortgage Sales:

You will be responsible for providing leadership and guidance to a team of Mobile Mortgage Specialists (MMS).  This will include the demonstration of ‘Subject Matter Expert’ level knowledge of mortgage products, policies and procedures and a commitment to Meridian’s core values and strategic objectives.

The role will oversee the implementation and achievement of business strategies and objectives through coaching and sales and market management. In addition, the role will work in partnership with the Regional Sales Teams to implement strategies, processes, and disciplines to achieve sustainable revenue growth through an engaged sales force.

The Regional Manager, MMS will ensure the MMS team demonstrates a high level of commitment to delivering a differentiated Member experience with a focus on net new Member acquisition and the seamless transition of this relationship to the retail branch network.

As a leader of others, this role strives to develop an effective, adaptable sales force that demonstrates a growth mindset, while nurturing both internal and external partnership that are consistent with the Meridian brand and strategic objectives.

This is a remote-home office role. There is also a requirement to attend team meetings in person. 

 

What you will do:

Leadership & Coaching

Lead and develop an engaged team of MMS aligned to key business drivers and delivering on outcomes. Establish and execute ongoing sales management disciplines – touch-bases, conference calls, team meetings – to support the MMS team. This will include reviews and studies of key reporting and assigned goals. Reinforce sound business practices by assessing risk associated with mortgage lending. Encourage innovation to address current and future business needs. Identify and build on the strength of the MMS team. Actively promote the development of Centres of Influence (COI) as sources of referral business.  Assist on the pursuit of new business opportunities through contact with local businesses and active participation with local community organizations to maximize networking and relationship building opportunities. Assist with development and execution of outbound marketing strategies. Act as a subject matter expert on mortgage application preparation and presentation and builds a strong partnership with Personal Lending to support the MMS team. Model Meridian’s corporate values by consistently demonstrating Meridian’s values in action. Develop a high performing, engaged, and flexible workforce aligned with delivering on Meridian’s retail experience, Member-centricity and service quality objectives. Supported by the Director, Mobile Experience, execute communication plans to update the MMS team on relevant initiatives, opportunities, and internal programs. Build and maintain strong partner relationships with key corporate support partners. Support change management to continue to drive mortgage business results.

Operational Excellence

Manage operational performance, policy and procedural adherence, and optimizes the efficiency of workflows within the MMS team. Maintain a strong commitment to the organizational position on risk assessment and policy adherence for mortgage lending. Develop a strong commitment to the ‘one and done’ mortgage application process by encouraging direct reports to follow credit granting guidelines, collecting all required information upfront and delivering the strongest, most straight forward application possible. Stay current on the fluid nature of mortgage pricing strategy in order to balance the need of the Member and the revenue generating expectations for the organization. Remain current with competitor policy and pricing strategy. Operate with an enterprise-wide perspective. Develop and maintain effective organization of responsibility, including efficient recruiting, training, workflow patterns and performance standards. Track the individual and team performance through internal reporting sources – pricing, sales performance, policy adherence, mortgage approval condition fulfillment, etc. Responsible for cascading communication of the strategic direction & priorities of the MMS Retail team. Ensure all pricing requests submitted by the MMS team are documented correctly and appropriate for escalation and approval.

Member Experience

Lead an MMS team that delivers an exceptional Member experience and offers insights to continually improve the Member Experience. Act as an escalation point for Member concerns related to the MMS team. Remove systemic barriers to exceptional Member Experience. Reinforce the correct behaviors demonstrated by the MMS team by celebrating positive Member feedback. Contribute to Meridian’s strategic plan for Member Experience. Identify organizational wide opportunities to improve mortgage processes. Provide recommendations to the Director to support the continuous enhancement of the Member Experience.

 

How you will succeed:

Post Secondary Education preferable in Finance or Business Administration. 5+ years of Financial Services Leadership experience, preferably with experience in the Mobile Mortgage space.  In depth experience with real estate lending, extensive knowledge of retail mortgage credit adjudication, and mortgage lending best practices. Track record in supporting and executing Retail Experience strategies. Knowledge of the real estate market in which the MMS team works. Knowledge of processes and understanding of internal departments to be able to handle MMS problems/exceptions. Experience in creating business plans and implementation plans. Proven collaboration with key stakeholders. Recognized as a proactive problem identifier and problem solver. Established network of Centre of Influences (COI’s) is an asset. Effective organizational time management, and problem-solving skills; ability to grasp concepts and processes quickly; demonstrated ability to partner and influence. Ability to think strategically and develop plans and recommendations that support the achievement of Meridian’s strategic objectives. Proven track record of bringing new ideas forward, while staying on top of trends in the market place. Sales oriented and Member focused, with the enthusiasm and tenacity to motivate self to meet and exceed goals and provide the right solutions. Exceptional ability to deliver and manage results-oriented recruiting and training programs. Ability to adapt, prioritize; plan workload and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast paced environment. Proven Member experience skills.  A valid drivers license to be able to effectively travel to meet with your team and attend meetings & events. 

 

Join us! This role is a Remote-Home Office role. However, travel will be required throughout your designated territory (within the GTA), to support with business development, meeting with your team, and attend other meetings in person occasionally.
