FlexStaff is seeking a Regional Medical Director for our client, a non-profit healthcare organization dedicated to providing home and community-based healthcare and services for the elderly, to oversee their clinics located in Manhattan (two locations on the Lower East Side and Upper East Side) as well as other sites in Queens, Flushing, and Ridgewood locations. Overview:
As the Regional Medical Director, you will be responsible for the professional, organizational, and administrative aspects of providing quality medical care to our Day Treatment Center patients under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Direct the medical care and treatment of patients while overseeing and supporting the interdisciplinary care team.
- Develop and supervise the provision of ambulatory medical services.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team activities and be available for site directors when needs arise.
- Promote a balanced approach between evidence-based medicine and patient values.
- Ensure process standardization and scalability across all sites.
- Oversee appropriate staffing and provider coverage.
- Lead educational and professional development activities.
- Supervise policies and procedures governing patient care and ensure they meet professional standards.
- Understand and apply principles of population health and managed care.
- Identify opportunities to improve quality of care within the organization.
- Supervise and manage the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Provide episodic care and clinical coverage as needed.
- Build positive alliances with interdisciplinary team members and leadership.
- Serve as a liaison with other medical organizations and community practices.
- Support utilization management and clinical review activities.
- Conduct chart reviews and assist with the appeals and grievances process.
- Participate in developing clinical models focused on high-risk members.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited school of medicine; Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Practice required, with Preference for Geriatric Medicine.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of staff supervision experience; experience in value-based organizations, advanced primary care, or managed care preferred; must have experience working with frail or elderly populations or agree to appropriate training upon hiring.
- License: Current, active, and unrestricted New York State medical license is required.
Additional Requirements:
- Medically cleared for communicable diseases, with all immunizations up to date before engaging in direct participant contact.
- Must possess a Medicaid and Medicare Provider ID in good standing.
