The Regional Quality Manager for DSD is responsible for providing Corporate Quality support to our DSD region for Cold Beverage Manufacturing locations – they will work with a partner RQM for the DSD region and specific sites for this particular role include: Jacksonville FL, Ottumwa IA, Northlake IL, Tucson AZ, Vernon CA, Sacramento CA but may expand to include others as needed based on coverage for absence/vacation/etc. and/or may be modified as the Senior Director of Cold Beverage Quality and/or Regional VP for DSD decide. As a direct report to the Senior Director of Cold Beverage Quality, this individual is accountable for supporting the development and implementation of strategies, systems and programs to be executed by site leaders and quality teams towards achieving the US Refreshment BU and DSD Regional objectives of the KDP Supply Chain, specifically those directly impacting Quality. They serve as the first line Corporate Quality support to the DSD region in their efforts to provide safe food/beverage products as defined by FSMA, six sigma Quality performance and compliance to all FDA, EPA and OSHA regulations and GFSI requirements. Expect up to 50% travel to provide appropriate support to their respective DSD locations.
Position Responsibilities:
Advanced understanding of GMP, HACCP, FSMA, Safe Quality Food Principles, and Food Defense Principles & Quality Management Systems.Ensure their Region is able to prepare, review and submit compliance reports to local, state/federal environmental regulatory agencies and to key customers.Support the development, execution and improvement of all Quality Assurance and Food Safety Systems, Programs, Policies and Procedures.Develop Quality skills and competencies of MFG quality teams to ensure a strong talent pipeline and close skill/knowledge gapsOversee Regional and Site execution of a strong CAPA/RCCM/RCCA program that drives site improvement in Quality and Regulatory Compliance.Regularly audit and monitor the Regional facilities to ensure they are fully operating in compliance with KDP Policy & Procedures, FSMA, FDA GMP, and GFSI guidelines.Support site incident management (with support from other Corporate QEHS functions) with regards to food safety and regulatory compliance. Examples include FDA Recall, Regulatory Agency audits/visits, etc.Understand and apply moderately complex mathematical concepts, to include statistics, in support of continuous improvement and statistical process control effortsDefine problems, collect data, establish facts, analysis quality data and draw valid conclusions. Support new product, new materials, and new supplier qualifications, working with R&D, Procurement, engineering, etc. within CVP change processServe as technical resource on all Quality matters to include consumer/supplier complaints, KPI performance, QA/QC methods/measurements, KDP Manufacturing Requirements, SPC/Cpk, Continuous Improvement, etc.Work cross functionally with other Regional Quality Managers, other Corporate QEHS functions, Procurement, R&D, Operations, Engineering and other functions as needed to support DSD sites. Requirements 5 years of previous experience as a leader directly managing Quality Assurance and Food Safety areas in large, complex food/beverage manufacturing facility.Education: Bachelor Degree minimum (degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, Food Engineering preferred)Previous experience leading a team of technical, salary and hourly associates – Able to build and reinforce quality acumen while partnering with the production and maintenance teams.Prior experience driving improvements impacting achievement of KPI goals while managing Dashboards, Scorecards and Visual Management tools relative to quality, safety and costDeep knowledge of FSMA, HACCP and FDA Regulations; SQF/FSSC 22000 and PCQI CertifiedStrong expertise in Statistical Process Control, Design of Experiments, TQM, Six SigmaProven track record of successful regulatory compliance, audits and reports (SQF/FSSC 22000, FDA, OSHA, Military and Customer)
