Regional Reliability Manager
Regional Reliability Manager, Mechanical Reliability - Atlanta, GA Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Regional Reliability Manager for mechanical reliability to join the Engineering & Manufacturing Service group. Strong leadership skills, combined with the ability to build strong teams and effectively communicate are essential for this role. The position will provide management and expertise across all Smurfit Westrock facilities and require 70% travel. How you will impact Westrock * Effectively communicate with mill teams to stay aligned on business drivers and priorities. * Lead and facilitate tactical projects to eliminate recurring failures. * Investigate causes of downtime and develop plans and strategies to reduce downtime in the organization. * Maximize mill asset availability, efficiency, and predictability through implementation of reliability guidelines and action plans to improve results. * Support cultural improvement in safety, inclusion, and engagement by serving as a role model for Smurfit Westrock Vision/Values/Behaviors. * Ensure best practices, standards, and specifications are part of Smurfit Westrock culture. * Support design for reliability efforts in capital planning. * Provide technical expertise for mill mechanical systems. * Assist with development of asset strategies and obsolescence strategies. * Assist with outage mechanical work scope development, outage planning, and quality control efforts. * Facilitate and participate in mills\u2019 Root Cause Failure Analysis process. * Develop and assess mechanical reliability strategy for the mill division. * Work with mill leadership to assess and identify gaps in the mill mechanical reliability program. * Develop mill relationships to help engage the mill in the reliability strategy * Troubleshoot and provide practical plans for correcting equipment reliability challenges. * Develop, maintain, and improve reliability KPI metrics and systems. * Utilize data to drive improvement efforts. * Review mill downtime data to identify patterns that will help the teams focus their efforts on the most impactful activities that will prevent unplanned downtime. * Engage with mills during their KPI Review Meetings and provide guidance and best practice examples that lead to reliability improvement on their biggest opportunities. * Serve as technical resource and training provider for reliability initiatives. What you need to succeed * 5 - 10 year of experience in Reliability Engineering or a related role, preferably in the pulp and paper or manufacturing industry. * Strong technical skills in mechanical systems including but not limited to; power transmission, pumping systems, sealing systems, hydraulic systems, precision installation practices and other mechanical systems. * Strong background with CMMS systems, preferably JDE and SAP * Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing reliability issues. * Experience using Microsoft Office programs * Strong ability to communicate/coordinate with different levels and multiple departments within the organization. * Strong written/verbal communication skills and internal customer focus. * Results oriented individual capable of handling projects individually, able to work efficiently in a highly team-oriented environment. * Additional skills needed: self-directed, flexible, self-learner, multitasking, results driven, safety focused. * Strong time management skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
