About the Role

Passionate about driving a culture of proactive risk management and making an impact that will shape the future of risk practices? As our new Regional Risk Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in empowering teams and leaders in ensuring risking mitigation and improved safety of operations at all levels.

Reporting into our Regional Risk Manager and part of the wider Operational Programs team, you will take on a hands-on approach working directly on the ground to assess operational risks, identify gaps and implement effective controls that will enhance operational safety and performance. Your key focus areas and contributions will be:

Supporting regional and site-based risk and control owners with risk management activities such as identification and documentation of risks and development and implementation of risk controls.

Working closely with site-based risk engineers and leadership to provide support and ensure adherence to regional and global risk standards.

Maintaining and updating the regional risk register, ensuring alignment with corporate governance standards.

Establishing a system for ongoing monitoring and tracking of operational risks and effectiveness of risk control, ensuring timely escalation of significant risks.

Preparing detailed risk reports and analysis for senior management; highlighting key risks, risk control measures, and the status of risk management activities.

What you can bring to the role

Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Risk Management, Safety, Engineering or related field. 

Exposure to management of change within an operational environment with proven experience in risk management utilising a range of tools including bowtie methodology, FMEA.

Broad industry knowledge including Health and Safety and regulatory compliance requirements.

A detailed minded approach with an ability to work in a systematic manner with strong data analytics and reporting skills.
