Imperial Dade is hiring a Regional EHS Safety Manager; this role requires strong grounding in safety standards, particularly in an industrial distribution context. Imperial Dade is one of the largest providers in Distribution in the United States, it operates in over 30 states and 95 locations throughout North America and Puerto Rico. The successful candidate will have a strong safety mindset and set the example for a culture of safety excellence. This candidate will also collaborate regularly with our transportation and warehouse managers and safety team to ensure consistent implementation across our warehouse and fleet as we develop a best-in-class safety environment. The selected Regional EHS Safety Manager will oversee an operation's safety program for various locations. They must be experienced with the compliance of federal, state, local regulations regarding DOT, OSHA and HazMat regulations. Responsibilities

You will:

 

Provides direction and guidance to location trainers. Develops and monitors contents of classroom training to ensure compliance. Teaches classes as required. Schedules and conducts re-cert and re-training.Investigates incidents, accidents, conducts audits and work-related injuries including accident investigation, accident reports, accident files, accident register, and follows up with the claim’s office and adjusters as necessary.Provides assistance and training to managers, supervisors and/or drivers and warehouse employees and other safety related issues.Performs driver road checks of driver performance (e.g., pre-trip; post-trip checks).Manages and collects all information and data from locations within the regions necessary to complete monthly safety reports in accordance with all deadlines.Provides various reports and analyzes, including safety trends. Develops cost saving recommendations. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.Determines appropriate compliance and administrative forms/requirements and manages the location’s safety program based on regulations and company policy.May modify and deliver safety and driver training, either personally or through staff, based on company policy, region goals and location needs.May provide work direction to Driver Trainers/Instructors.May hire, train, and develop employees engaged in safety, driver training and/or compliance processes.Create a culture of safety excellence and effective risk management Qualifications

You have:

4+  years of safety related experience in Transportation & WarehouseMust have experience managing multiple locationsBachelor’s degree required or equivalent experienceCDL a plusRelated Safety certifications a plus +: Defense Driving, OSHA 10 / 30, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Institute of Hazardous Materials Management (IHMM)Experience in Smartdrive, Lytx, Geotab and/or video-based technologyKnowledge of federal and state rules and regulations regarding safety and environmental issues is a mustConduct Monthly Safety meetings, must be comfortable speaking to large groupsAbility to effectively work with local union regarding write ups as well as issuing discipline to driversComputer literate with working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPointAbility to effectively prioritize tasks and manage time effectivelyGood verbal, written and relational communication skills, with ability to appropriately interact with employees of all levels including drivers, customers, senior management, client representatives, union officials and general publicFluent in English, Spanish a plus +Demonstrate regular and consistent attendance and punctualityPossess working vehicle to travel with in service area as needed, responsible for multiple locationsStrong understanding of current safety compliance regulations including strong technical knowledge of OSHA, ANSI, NFPA, EPA, HAZMAT, and Worker’s CompensationDemonstrated ability to provide leadership and direction to all levels of the organization; ability to influence others to perform their jobs safely and create a culture of safetyTravel if up to 75% of the time
