Role Title : Regional Security Manager USA
Reports to: Global Security Manager
Role Purpose To provide an efficient security and loss prevention management to senior Primark management ensuring the Group’s strategies, procedures, and operational plans for dealing with security, critical incidents and disaster recovery (SCIDR) in the USA region are monitored, evaluated and implemented effectively.
Responsibilities:
At Primark’s discretion to carry out a targeted program of evaluation of
SCIDR readiness and effectiveness for facilities and management teams within
area of responsibility. Including:Devise and implement exercises relevant to the geographical location and current threat/risk assessment.Provide reports as to security infrastructure performance and potential improvements.To monitor the risks and threats posed to the business through national and international protest groups.To provide bespoke risk-assessments to the business and offer professional advice as to how those risks can be removed or mitigated.To provide guidance and education to the business and liaison with civil authorities and practical assistance where a SCIDR event occurs.To provide assistance in the SCIDR field for insurance audits.To develop and maintain a wide network of contacts in the SCIDR field within the business and civil authorities in USATo provide best practice recommendations and assistance to support Primark policies and procedures to keep people, property and premises safe and reduce loss.To provide assessment on Technical and Physical security on new buildings, in order to comply with legal regulation, reduce risk and ease future operations within stores.To provide expertise and practical assistance on major events.Under the direction of the Global Security Manager, support Primark with:Store support visits – security and loss prevention advice and action plansInternal/External crime investigation advice and supportAdvice and support with safeguarding and employee risk and work place violenceHead office and distribution center security adviceSecurity, counter terrorism and loss prevention trainingPolice and retail crime partnership liaisonNew store opening, security systems and customer/crowd management preparation in conjunction with the Global Security Manager and Head of Security for PrimarkNew store opening day – advice and support to Primark senior managers.Traveler safety advice – ANVIL and personal briefingsTo provide practical assistance in relation to breaches of security and criminal acts.To monitor & evaluate security teams’ effectiveness and performance.To investigate the applicability and usefulness of new or advanced technology to facilities within the business, make recommendations based on its cost effectiveness, research suppliers and monitor the effectiveness of any installation.To work in cooperation with Primark EHS in Emergency ProceduresTo work with Retail operations on training plans for stock loss preventionTo support retail operations on relations with mall security managementTo be the main point of contact to investigations related to LogisticsTo support Primark Logistics regionally as requiredAt the direction of the Head of Group Security to assist ABF Group Security personnel in any other matter.
Knowledge & Experience Verbal and written fluency in English and Spanish (any other language would be an advantage)Likely to have extensive middle level experience in corporate security managementOfficial studies and qualification related to industrial and/or corporate security, such as CPO, CPP and othersExperience in retail sector and/or supply chain valuableMulti-site supervision experienceInternational experience valuableLed/influenced significant change process.Led in tough/challenging situations.Good understanding of civil, criminal and employment law.Significant practical experience in dealing with major incidents in the SCIDR field.Exposure to investigations spanning multi-executive and judicial environments
Complexity & CreativityIdentification of areas where the business can be improved through the implementation of cost-effective security initiatives.Cultural awareness of diverse working communities and expectations of colleagues in various geographic theatresAligning Group Security Minimum Standards with the business whilst balancing the same with the ethos, policies and procedures of the business
Judgements & DecisionsWhen and what to escalate to the Global Security Manager and /or Head of Group SecurityWho to contact external to the Company to expedite a situation.Strikes a balance between business specific matters and wider ABF plc issues, particularly with relevance to ‘corporate reputation’.To ensure appropriate Group Security cover is in place during planned periods of absenceTo identify ways to prevent crime and protect our people
Operational ResponsibilityTo ensure the readiness of a business region to react to any SCIDR incident is accurately assessed and reported.To assist diverse business management teams to improve their performance and readiness to face an SCIDR incident.To lead on internal investigations arising from actual or suspected criminality
