GEICO seeks a Regional Security Specialist, a role combining knowledge in the principles of physical security, threat assessment, investigations, and technical expertise to enhance our physical safety and security program. Reporting to the Regional Security Manager, you’ll support the physical security operations and contract security suppliers for the assigned geographic regions and the people and facilities within it to mitigate against threats to the firm and inform internal stakeholders. This position will assist in managing security operations, investigations, and support the driving of policies, standards and procedures with the intent of safeguarding employees. As a member of the GEICO Corporate Safety and Security team, you'll leverage your experience in physical security operations, threat assessments and mitigation strategies to enhance our prevention, detection, and response while adapting to evolving threat landscapes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Regional Security Manager in leading a third-party security staff assigned to GEICO owned and leased facilities within the assigned geographical region.
Alongside the Regional Security Manager, conduct comprehensive threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments to new and existing facilities to identify any potential operational hazards and ensure current security controls are in-line with established GEICO Standards.
Work with internal partners and outside agencies as directed to investigate, respond to and manage security related incidents at GEICO properties or impact the firm’s personnel.
Coordinate response to internal and external physical security/life-safety events including security officer dispatch, internal incident communications, and coordination of cross-functional teams.
Contribute to strategic decisions on the growth and direction of the Physical Security department.
Assist with the creation and maintenance of all GEICO Corporate Safety and Security policies and procedures.
Assist with the planning and coordination of security resources for all GEICO sponsored events both internal and external to the firm’s properties.
Participate as a member of the Site Crisis Management Team for the GEICO facilities within the assigned geographical region to help with coordination of security resources and business continuity.
Report on physical security related incidents, investigations, events, and activities to the Regional Security Management or GCSS Team.
Prepare and present informational sessions to a diverse population on safety and security related topics.
Regularly review workflows and technology assets to improve operations and reduce resource effort.
Provide ongoing training and development to contract security staff and other team members to hone their skills to improve performance and to enable them to enhance their careers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Significant experience as a leader in corporate security, law enforcement or the United States Military.
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Proven verbal and written communication skills, interacting with all levels of corporate leadership.
Ability to quickly rebalance priorities as warranted by developing incidents or new information.
Experience liaising with federal, state, and local first responder agencies.
Proficient in risk communication from security operations to executive management.
Collaborative skills working across technical and non-technical teams.
Triaging internal and external physical security/life-safety incidents to determine appropriate level of response.
Basic Investigative experience, including case management, interviewing and report writing.
Ability to respond to security related incidents as they develop 24 hours per day/ 7 days per week
Flexibility to work non-traditional hours as needed and travel up to 25% of the time.

Annual Salary
$76,000.00 - $126,000.00The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
