Job Description
The Regional Transportation Analyst will coordinate cross functionally to proactively secure transportation capacity that meets or exceeds our customer’s service expectations. This person will drive mode optimization decisions using complex data and analytics with a focus on service and cost improvement opportunities. Responsible for implementing and measuring new and ongoing logistics initiatives. Will work in a cross functional team environment engaged in process improvement activities and carrier relationship management.
Key Accountabilities
Process & Cost Control: Work cross-functionally to identify all barriers and resources to achieve financial goals.
Develop and maintain thorough knowledge of relevant carrier modes
Maintain the proper balance of transport modes within managed regions
Support regional sourcing initiatives (optimal lane mapping, tactical lane adjustments, ad hoc capacity procurement, etc.)
Manage tactical procurement events to support logistics and planning teams
Preparation for and leading of ad hoc carrier negotiations
Support internal stakeholders working on customer service and supply chain projects
Maintain or develop key strategic relationships with transportation providers and internal stakeholders
Maintain and update carrier routing guides within TMS
Monitor key performance indicators for improvement and control purposes
Identify cost saving opportunities and drive execution of initiatives with management team
Deliver on fiscal year goals and objectives
Escalation point for regional planning, logistics and operations
Ability to accept rapidly changing priorities, shift focus to accomplish a tactical goal, then return to strategic priorities without losing productivity
Maintain and update transportation SOP’s
Work with planning, logistics and operations teams to facilitate equipment utilization and velocity
Ensure rates within the CHEP used TMS system are properly maintained
Collaborate with both carriers and customers (internal and external) to drive overall supply chain efficiencies
Customer Service & Support: Operate a business unit that consistently meets internal and external customer needs & expectations.
Learn about the customer's challenges and objectives, both internal and external
Identify ways to support those needs and overcome challenges
Recommend optimal transportation modes, routing, equipment, or frequency
Identify changes or challenges to management
Deliver analysis of service and cost to determine areas of opportunity
Develop positive relationship with third party providers and ensures consistent achievement of expectations / requirements

Qualifications
Bachelor’s in supply chain, Business, or equivalent experience
1-3 years’ experience in Transportation or Supply Chain
Required:
Must be able to prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact, and communicate clearly across multiple audiences
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or business intelligence software
Desirable:
Experience with QlikView (BI tools), proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
Experience
Knowledge of the transportation industry and current trends
Exposure to the supply chain, preferably direct
Familiarity with CHEP carrier network
