Job DescriptionThe Regional Vice President provides comprehensive management of all technical, business and administrative activities for a portfolio of laboratories. Provides support to the laboratory management at all business units and is responsible for the overall quality, performance and profitability of the laboratories assigned to him/her as well as contributing to companywide initiatives to drive true network optimization across Eurofins Environment Testing USA. The RVP is also responsible for generating margin and revenue growth for the company at the business unit level by supporting and helping to develop business and market strategy plans.
Manages labs in accordance with business plan and analyzes financial performance to meet the business objectives.Conducts supervisory responsibilities with direct reports to foster and maintain strong staff performance.Monitors progress of business units toward standardization objectives and key performance indicators (KPI's) to improve quality, financial performance, customer service and revenue growth.Mentors, coaches and develops skills to upgrade analytical and business skills of laboratory managers.Regularly communicates with employees concerning objectives, company direction and expectations to create a positive work environment and improve staff performance.Prepares annual capital and operating budgets for business units to meet financial goals and objectives.Facilitates local and company-wide initiatives and activities weekly to promote cooperation and consistency across their group and the company.Supports all company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOP's).Meets with clients on a regular basis to evaluate lab performance and respond to changing customer requirements.Develops and implements systems to identify and highlight significant trends or concerns. Actively looks at cost benefit analyses and pursues corrective actions where needed.Acts as key advisor to the Sr. VP and to the Eurofins Environment Testing USA Executive Management Team.Provides weekly and monthly reports to the Sr. VP to ensure that goals and objectives are being achieved and to recognize opportunities for development.Responsible for establishing new business developments and additive growth to meet financial objectivesAssists laboratory management personnel with operational issues including contract negotiations, sales and service issues, customer relations, and key proposals in order to ensure smooth operating systems and meet customer needs.Routine travel to laboratory locations and client sites as required.Reviews audit findings and ensures BUMa (Business Unit Manager)/Lab Directors are implementing corrective actions as needed to maintain compliance.Participates in corporate and group lab meetings to support key Eurofins environment Testing USA’s initiatives.Responsible for upholding and enforcing Company policies, including but not limited to, Quality, Safety, Standard Operating Procedures, Ethics, and Harassment.Collaborates with the Business Controller and HR Business Partner to discuss and review manpower regularly.Collaborates with HR Business Partner to ensure that all policies and programs are applied consistently throughout all facilities.Additional duties as assignedQualificationsBS/BA Degree in Chemistry or Business required; MBA preferred.5+ years Environmental Laboratory management experienceMinimum 3 years profit and loss responsibilityOperations experienceProject Management experienceProfit and Loss responsibilitiesFinancial ManagementWorking knowledge of Chemistry and Business FinanceManaging multiple locations/departmentsExcellent communication/presentation skillsProblem-solving skillsAbility to develop and enforce policies and operating practicesStrong decision-making abilitiesAbility to communicate at all levels of the organizationLeadershipTeam BuildingCommunication skills – both written and oralPresentation skillsAbility to influence othersAbility to multitaskAbility to function under high stress and/or tense environmentsAuthorization to work in the US without restriction or sponsorshipAdditional InformationProfessional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
