Under supervision of the Director of Clinical Services and the Assistant Director of Clinical Services, the Behavioral Technician will support the implementation of positive behavior support plans, collect and analyze data, assist with conducting assessments (e.g., preference assessments), and attend meetings as needed. Maintains compliance with Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulations, the current Registered Behavior Technician ethical code, and SHF/SHCS policies and procedures.

Responsibilities Essential Functions

•Participates in the delivery of a continuum of comprehensive behavior analytic services and supports to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities within their natural environments (at varying levels of intensity as per DDS regulations).
-Implements behavioral interventions designed by supervising behavior analyst to reduce challenging behavior and/or to promote acquisition of replacement skills.
-Develops and maintains supportive working relationships with the individual’s families/guardians.
-Conducts preference assessments.
-Assists in data collection for assessments and behavior support plans.
-Provides data reporting on target behaviors to both increase and decrease behavior.
-Participates in staff meetings or other meetings as needed.
-Consults with administrative, clinical, and residential staff, as well as participating providers/organizations (e.g., adult day programs, therapists, medical specialists, and Department of Developmental Services staff).
-Participates in the Individual Support Plan (ISP) process, collaborating with other members of the team to promote a continuity of care.
•Delivers professional development training to SHF staff using the Foundation's current crisis management curriculum (e.g., Safety-Care).
•Provides on-site coaching and training to SHF staff specific to implementation of the Foundation's current crisis management curriculum (e.g., Safety-Care).
•Participates in the intake process as directed/requested.
•Performs other duties as directed by the Director of Clinical Services & Assistant Director of Clinical Services.

Additional Responsibilities

•To carry out all responsibilities professionally and efficiently.
•Adhere to the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s Code of Ethics and Guidelines for Responsible Conduct. All services will be provided under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst.
•To work in harmony and in support of the Seven Hills Foundation and its subsidiaries.
•Complete and/or maintain required staff trainings, including training in a foundation-approved crisis management curriculum.


Behavior Technicians who are also enrolled in a verified course sequence or master’s program and are participating in practical fieldwork in applied behavior analysis, under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst or Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst, will participate in the following activities:

• Conducting assessment activities related to the need for behavioral interventions (stimulus preference assessments, functional assessment, staff performance assessment, verbal behavior assessment)
• Designing, implementing, and monitoring skill-acquisition and behavior-reduction programs for clients
• Overseeing the implementation of behavior analysis programs by others
• Training, designing behavioral systems, and performance management
• Attending planning meetings regarding clients’ behavior analysis programs
• Researching the literature related to behavior-analytic programs
• Talking to individuals about behavior-analytic programs

Qualifications

•Pass a fingerprint-based background check of the state and national criminal history databases.
•Associate’s or bachelor's degree in psychology or education.
•Prior experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities within their natural environments.
•Successful completion of a curriculum approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board consisting of a 40-hour training program.
•Pass the Registered Behavior Technician online examination.
•Pass the Registered Behavior Technician Competency Assessment (administered by a BACB certificant) and any other BACB-mandated training requirements.
•Experience in working with individuals diagnosed with developmental/intellectual disabilities, acquired brain injuries, and/or mental health conditions is preferred.
•Must be eligible to become a trainer in SHF's current crisis management curriculum (e.g., Safety-Care for families).
•Proficiency using word processing and spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel).
•Valid driver’s license, ability to drive, and means of consistent transportation.
•Travel to other cities and towns may be required.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. on occasion. Ability to perform primary job functions while standing for extended periods of time. Ability to use a Foundation-approved crisis management curriculum as trained/certified.
