Position: Registered Dietitian
Location: Altamont, NY

Key Responsibilities: Integrate food and nutrition into resident care through effective communication with medical and nursing staff. Complete the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and contribute relevant information to resident care plans. Provide nutritional counseling and dietary education to residents and their families. Implement dietary changes and modify menus in food service software as needed. Support the department in reinforcing policies and procedures, providing training to dietary staff as necessary. Attend resident care plan meetings and develop integrated care plans. Observe food preparation and participate in meal rounds as required. Assist with cost control, food preparation, service, and staffing needs. Conduct routine evaluations to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. Advise physicians and nursing supervisors on necessary diet changes or nutritional supplements. Ensure adherence to physician diet orders for all residents. Communicate dietary changes to production staff affecting food preparation. Supervise kitchen staff and oversee daily operations as needed. Participate in administrative staff and departmental meetings. Requirements: Bachelor of Science Degree in Clinical Dietetics. Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) and/or Certified Dietitian of New York (CDN) preferred; 1+ year of experience is a plus (we will train the right candidate). Member of the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Experience with Prime food service software and meal tracking systems. Familiarity with Point Click Care. Knowledge of food and nutrition-related issues. Strong interpersonal skills and enthusiasm. Excellent time management skills with the ability to multitask.
