Registered Dietitian

We are seeking a Registered Dietitian (RD) with experience in providing personalized diet plans and leading group sessions for adults aged 50 years or older. This role is part of an ongoing study on dietary interventions, focusing on promoting healthier eating habits through education based on the "What’s on My Plate?" dietary principles, which align with the 2020 Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA 2020).

-Develop nutrition plans tailored to individual medical needs, dietary restrictions, and health goals, and follow up to ensure adherence.

- Conduct nutrition education for groups, primarily online, with 4-6 participants per session, to promote healthy eating habits and proper dietary modification.

- Assist in the design and implementation of dietary intervention and research projects, including preparing presentation slides based on the upcoming Dietary Guidelines for Americans (DGA 2025).

- Collect and analyze data on program use and effectiveness by using ASA24 software to record dietary recalls and track participant progress.

- Reach out to patients for scheduling, appointment reminders, and other communications via email, website, and text messaging.

- Stay informed about the latest discoveries in nutrition and their application to older adults.

- Provide education on other health issues related to older adults to groups and individuals as appropriate.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, health, or a related field.

- State of Maryland licensed dietitian.

- At least one year of experience in dietetic consultations and group sessions.

- Knowledge of "What’s on My Plate?" dietary principles and the 2020 Dietary Guidelines for older adults.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:

- Exceptional communication, public speaking, and listening skills.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and a compassionate approach to patient care.

- Proficiency in using software for dietary recalls and data entry, such as ASA24.

- Willingness to engage in continuous learning and research to stay updated on the latest developments in nutrition.

- Ability to build trusting relationships with patients and understand their dietary needs and goals.

- Experience in utilizing ASA24 and REDCap preferred but not required.

This is an off-campus position that requires some local travel which will be reimbursed.
