Recommends adjustments to client’s diets to the physician as needed. Monitors client acceptance of meals and suggests appropriate substitutions. Performs nutritional counseling on a group or individual basis whenever required. Attends team meetings for therapeutic diets as needed. Provides coverage as needed in the absence of the Clinical Dietitian. Maintains standards for client’s nutritional care with the dietetics teams Liaison to medical/nursing/residential day programs with Clinical Dietitian. Plans and conducts orientation and in-service programs for personnel. Monitors food service for conformance with quality standards of dietary compliance, sanitation, safety, and security by routine mealtime visits to residential units and school cafeterias. Ensure WS employees have updated diet information. Assists in menu planning of special diets and prepares menus for distribution where indicated. Supervises FNS food production and service when needed. Registered Dietitian (RD), Licensed Dietitian nutritionist (LDN), and a member of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Registered Dietitian with one year of experience as a dietitian in a health care facility. In-depth knowledge of special diets essential. In-depth knowledge of the nutritional requirements of Developmental Disabilities preferred. Computer proficiency desired. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
