Job Brief

Conducts nutritional assessments and develops a nutritional care plan for all agency consumers.

Shift Worked: Varies Weekly Hours: 30 FLSA Status: Exempt Pay range: $65,000 - $70,000

POSITION SUMMARY:

Develops and implements food service training programs and conducts nutrition and dietary in-services. Monitors food deliveries and adherence to diet orders and menus for individuals in community residences. Performs as interim Administrator of Dietary Services when needed.

POSITION DUTIES:

Compiles and utilizes dietary and nutrition care data and all other pertinent data to complete all annual nutritional assessments and progress notes, and develops a plan of care for community clients. Assesses client needs, recommends diet orders to Primary Care Physicians and prepares menus via client and staff interviews and observations, and coordination with professional program staff. Participates in interdisciplinary team reviews as necessary and functions as a consultant on nutritional care, agency-wide. Maintains effective written and verbal communications with all agency professionals. Interprets and utilizes pertinent current research related to nutritional care. Provides dietary and nutrition in-services to apartment direct care staff and provides on-going food service training to all staff. Visits apartments on a regular basis to monitor effectiveness of client’s menus and diets and their meal preparation and consumption. Monitors apartment staff for adherence to written dietary policies and procedures for all food service activities such as food purchasing and receiving, food handling and storage, food preparation and service, and sanitation and safety. Completes and distributes pre-audit forms reflecting above. Evaluates food served and the methods by which it is served for adherence to quality standards and diet orders. Completes and distributes meal observation reports reflecting above. Conducts nutritional in-services for new employee orientation classes. Performs all other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Foods and Nutrition. Registered Dietitian by the American Dietetic Association. NYS Certified Dietician Nutritionist (CDN). Minimum 3+ years’ experience. Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency’s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and Federal False Claims Acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews. Share
