Job Summary: Provide clinical nutrition and medical nutrition therapy services for outpatients of the Chronic Care and Diabetes department and diabetes inpatients of CaroMont Regional Medical Center as applicable. Provide individual and group nutrition education and meal planning for CaroMont outpatients. Assist with meeting departmental and recognition standards for clinical nutrition by providing evidence-based practice and care. Fluent in Spanish and ability to translate written materials and provide Spanish interpretation preferred.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university majoring in Nutrition, Dietetics, or related field.
Registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration required or registration eligible, and licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in the state of NC. Specialty Certification preferred (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist= CDCES). Noncertified employees must complete CEUs per the requirements of the ADA guidelines yearly. Ability to work with the multidisciplinary team and communicate with all members on behalf of the patient. Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal. Good critical thinking skills that result in positive patient outcomes. Fluent in Spanish and ability to translate written materials and provide Spanish interpretation preferred.
