Job Description Summary:
Under clinical supervision, assists in the delivery of patient care and treatment according to policies and procedures and Logan Health MAU/UAP scope of practice. Provides administrative support and works collaboratively with Physicians, Advanced Practice Clinicians, RNs, LPNs and other department staff to meet the physical, psychosocial, education and spiritual needs of the patient and family.Required: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or (CMA) Certified Medical Assistant Credential.
Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year of experience preferred.Phlebotomy experience.Medical office experience and medical terminology training.Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, lab values, and pharmacology.Familiarity with medical equipment, safety hazards, patient rights, and infection control.Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a team environment.Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for exams and treatments.Obtain and record patient history and vital signs.Collect and prepare lab specimens.Assist physicians and clinicians during procedures and exams.Perform minor procedures (e.g., suture removal, dressing changes).Clean and disinfect equipment.Schedule appointments and assist with referrals.Collect patient information and co-payments.Participate in team meetings and quality improvement initiatives.Benefits:
