Job Overview:

This position is responsible for performing a full range of laboratory tests, confirming the accuracy of test results, and reporting laboratory findings to doctors, pathologists, or other physicians. This role may cover various areas of the laboratory, including Transfusion Service, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology/Immunology, Toxicology, Special Chemistry, and Fibrinolysis. Responsibilities also include operating and maintaining a variety of laboratory instruments and utilizing the laboratory computer system.

Job Responsibilities:

   - Perform a full range of laboratory tests.

   - Confirm the accuracy of test results and report findings.

   - Operate and maintain laboratory instruments.

   - Follow established policies and procedures.

   - Work under the supervision of a general supervisor or medical technologist.

   - Direct supervision is not required for specimen processing, test performance, or result reporting.
 

Job Requirements:

   - Associate's Degree (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).

    - Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent, or registry eligible.

    - Certification must be obtained within one year of hire.

    - Clinical training in MLT.

    - Up to 1 year of clinical experience as required by the MLT program at a hospital.

    - Competence in handling complex assignments.
