Sentara Heart Hospital located on the campus of Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Advanced Heart Failure Specialty Unit!

Shift: Full Time Night Shift

The Sentara Heart Hospital, a 112-bed care facility, is #2 for Cardiology services and Heart Surgery in the State of Virginia and ranks #24 in the nation for best heart programs. 

Advanced Heart Failure Department Overview:

•24 bed Specialty Unit that provides high acuity cardiac care to patients with severe heart failure, pre/post heart transplant, the Total Artificial Heart, and pulmonary hypertension.

•Work with high tech equipment such as mechanical circulatory support including ventricular assist devices (LVAD, BiVAD) and telemetry monitors.

•Environment relies on 24 hours consistent communication and intricate interdisciplinary teamwork skills.

•Nurses handle 3-4 patients on this unit based on acuity level.

Education: 

Diploma RN, associate degree RN, bachelor’s degree RN, or master’s degree RN.  

All Direct Care RNs are required to have BLS within 90 days of hire and ACLS within 1 year. 

RN License Virginia or Compact/Multi-State Eligible.
