Responsible for providing high quality nursing care to patients with psychiatric or psychological problems consistent with Agency philosophy, Agency policy and Standards of Nursing Practice. Works under moderate supervision. Licensure: License and current registration to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required. Valid drivers license may be required, as determined by operational/regional needs. Education: Bachelors degree in nursing from a state approved diploma program, OR, Associates degree with at least one year of experience as a full-time staff nurse in a medical-surgical nursing area required. Masters degree in Psychiatric Nursing preferred. EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year experience in a Homecare environment or recent graduate of a nursing internship program required. For candidates with a Nursing Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing, a minimum of two years of recent inpatient, outpatient or home care psychiatric experience OR successful completion of a Psychiatric Nursing Clinical Certification program or psychiatric nursing school program required. For candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing or Master's Degree in Psychiatric Nursing, a minimum of one year experience in a mental health or home care psychiatric setting OR successful completion of a Psychiatric Nursing Clinical Certification program or psychiatric nursing school program required. Bilingual skills may be required, as determined by operational needs.
