Registered Nurse, Infusion

Regions is seeking an experienced RN to work in a part time, day shift position in our Infusion Clinic.  In a collaborative and multidisciplinary environment, you will provide professional nursing care including assessment, planning, implementation, follow-up, and evaluation in accordance with Oncology Nursing Society and institutional standards of care. When working in the oncology clinic, the nurse functions in a care coordination role, addressing patient needs and communicating with physicians, inpatient, homecare, and hospice staff as appropriate. When working in the chemotherapy infusion room, administers chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and other intravenous medications according to established standards. Demonstrates a caring, competent manner to instill patient confidence and contribute to an environment that is centered on the needs of patients and their families.

Required Qualifications:

Associate degree in nursing with one year of RN experience   OR completion of a bachelor’s degree in nursing OR master’s degree   in nursing.  One year hospital nursing or equivalent experience required. At least one year in oncology care or outpatient oncology clinic setting   OR at least one year of infusion therapy experience. If no previous oncology   experience, must be willing to obtain biotherapy/chemotherapy certification within 6 months of hire. Per Diem requires minimum of 3 years (6240 hours) of RN experience.  At manager’s discretion, relative related experience may preclude 3-year minimum nursing requirement for per diem.  Current Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification or willing to obtain within 1 to 2 years of hire OR successful completion of 36 cancer-related continuing education nursing contact hours each Commission on Cancer accreditation cycle (tracked by dept). Registered Nurse license in the state of Minnesota BLS through AHA certified program.

Preferred Qualifications:

Recent experience in chemotherapy administration preferred.
