The Medical Surgical unit is located on the 3rd floor of Goshen Hospital.  This is a 19-bed Med Surg unit with patient population primarily of medical patients intermixed with minor surgical patients, some oncology, inpatient hospice, and Peds.
Nurse-to-patient-ratio: 1:5

Practices professional nursing at an excellent level within the Goshen nursing model of care keeping a primary focus on the patient/family using the nursing process, culturally appropriate interventions, and holistic principles with attention to continuity of care and patient advocacy, while maintaining a safe environment. Is a leader in professional nursing both in direct care and in colleague relationships using ethical principles, collaboration, peer review, evidence-based practice, and teaching & learning principles.

Position Accountabilities:

Position Qualifications

Minimum Education: Registered nurse with a valid Indiana State RN license.

Colleagues hired with an associate degree must enter a BSN program within 12 months of hire and earn their BSN from a NLN or CCNE accredited program within 5 years of beginning their BSN degree.

Effective February 2021, Colleagues hired with an associate degree and 10 or more years of nursing experience may be exempt from entering into a BSN program. 

Preferred Experience: One to two years experience related to unit of hire. Certifications Required: AHA Healthcare Provider CPR certification.  Certifications Preferred: Specific to unit of practice: Med/Surg - Medical/Surgical
