Registered Nurse, Pain Clinic

Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care in ambulatory settings. Patient care may be a direct activity of the RN, or it may be to coordinate and supervise patient care provided by assistive personnel. Utilizes a systematic approach to nursing practice incorporating assessment, planning, nursing diagnosis, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, recognized professional standards and Park Nicollet Health Services policy. Previous experience preferred in the designated area. 

This position works directly with our pain physicians and NP.  Duties include admitting and discharging, education about procedures/recovery/follow up, IV insertion and administering IV sedation, assisting with procedures and positioning of patients, occasional clinic work, pre calling patients with instructions, post procedure call check ins, answering random patient calls, medication refills and other miscellaneous tasks

Work Schedule:

16 hrs weekly / .4 FTE. Tuesdays and Thursdays, primarily in Woodbury but occasionally in Bloomington.  Bloomington days may be M-F depending on MD schedules.  No weekends or holidays.

Required Qualifications:

Education, Experience or Equivalent Combination: BSN / Baccalaureate degree in nursing Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: Valid Minnesota Registered Nurse License BLS provider status in accordance with American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross guidelines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven proficiency in the operation of the following: Personal Computer, Telephone, Fax Machine, Photocopier, Printer, and electronic medical record.  This position requires familiarity and compliance with matters of law, regulations and internal policies affecting the employment relationship, (including but not limited to FMLA, ADA, discrimination, and harassment laws).  Demonstrates knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.
