What you will Do
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served, in accordance with MercyOne standards.
Prioritizes components of an in-depth assessment to determine patients’ holistic health status on an ongoing basis.
Utilizing the nursing process effectively identifies actual and potential problems and develops/carries out the plan of care for the complex patient; specific to the age of patient population identified within the department/unit scope of service, in accordance with the department/unit standards.
Provides concurrent, accurate, and legible documentation on the medical record consistent with hospital policies.
Implements nursing intervention and adapts care based on changes in patient condition, consultation with other professionals, and patient/family needs.
Promotes and maintains a safe and calm environment for complex patients by ensuring appropriate supplies, equipment, and necessary services.
Minimum Qualifications
Degree in nursing (ADN or BSN)
RN with active license
Have or obtain Basic Life Support within 3 months of employment

MercyOne Western Iowa serves the needs of individuals in a 33-county area including western Iowa, eastern Nebraska and southeastern South Dakota. MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, a 238-bed regional facility, is home to the only Level II trauma center in the area – one of only four trauma care facilities in the state to receive verification from the American College of Surgeons – and MercyOne Air Med, a regional helicopter ambulance service.
