The Medical Progressive Care Unit is a 15-bed unit with a 1:3 Nurse to Patient ratioWith this focus on patient centered care, you will have more bandwidth to provide a holistic care approachIn our unit, you'll develop a broader nursing skill set and encounter a wider variety of cases compared to other unitsOur patient demographic is highly mixed and diverse
The Registered Nurse for PCU ensures the delivery of quality nursing care for acutely ill patients in accordance with age-related and individual needs, physician’s orders, hospital policy, standards of care and nursing practice. Responsible for assessing the needs of patients, planning nursing care to meet those needs, and ensuring that the plan of care is carried out and documented according to the principles defined in the nursing process. Participates in the development of progressive care unit goals.
Main responsibilities:
Participates in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team using effective communication and conflict management skillsUses a systematic process of assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in delivery of care by collaborating with the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team through care plansAdapts care to accommodate unexpected changes in patient status. Communicates patient needs and changes in condition to physician, team members and/or family as necessaryProvides compassionate care for patients during challenging periods or transitions in life or lifecycles with respect and dignity JOB SPECIFICATIONSRequired Qualifications:
Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)Current Registered Nurse license in the State of OregonAmerican Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLSACLS certification required within 3 months of hireExperience in acute care nursingOur Competitive Benefit Offerings:
