Key Qualifications:
Registered in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or currently meet the eligibility criteria to register in good standing in the Temporary Class or General Class with the CNO.
Demonstrated clinical competence in nursing practicePrevious oncology nursing experience essentialPrevious medical/surgical experience an assetPalliative care nursing experience an assetPatient physical assessment skillsC.N.A. Oncology Certification or Community College Course preferredPhysical assessment experience combined with I.V. starts, phlebotomies, central lines experience and certification, with expertise in various types of infusion pumps, CVAD’s, and chemotherapy administrationAbility to multitask in a fast paced multidisciplinary teamAbility to work as a cohesive member of a multidisciplinary teamEffective decision making, problem solving and organizational skills combined with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and writtenPositive attendance and work record essentialPosition Summary:
Responsible and accountable for decisions and actions in the provision and management of medical care for patients The primary focus in this position encompasses both systemic therapy and supportive care for oncology patients Practitioner, consultant and educator for appropriate patient groups and health care team members
