Registered Nurse
Overview: Under the general supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Registered Nurse delivers comprehensive nursing services to individuals residing in the homes operated by Community Programs of WJCS. By conducting assessments, developing care plans, and providing interventions, the RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and other health professionals to promote the optimal health and safety is promoted for each individual. This is a 40 hour per week position, with a salary range of $80,000-$85,000. Responsibilities: As a valued member of our team, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: + Coordinate mandated evaluations, such as physicals, dental, eye/vision, audio evaluations, + Provide follow up for all medical recommendations; collaborating with the IDT to promote the strengths of each individual. + Provide eyes on to assess individual at minimum once per week. + Collaborates with the IDT to promote the strengths of each individual, as well as reports on current health status at quarterly, semi annual and annual reviews. + Collaborates with families and/or advocates as necessary regarding individuals’ medical/health care needs. + Participates with IDT in evaluation of status and promotion of advanced directives and DNRs. + Reviews immunization records for compliance with prescribed protocols. + Administers immunizations and tests as required for staff and individuals. + Ensures safe and accurate administration of medications. + Teaches Medication Course (AMAP) – Provides support training, evaluation and encouragement to AMAP staff. Requirements: We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications: + New York State license to practice as a Registered Nurse required + Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various locations around Westchester + CPR Certification + Experience working with individuals who are developmentally or cognitively disabled. + Must possess good interpersonal and organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing. + Working knowledge of OPWDD regulations as it relates to nursing practices.
