Freedom Detox provides inpatient detoxification treatment for substance use disorders in a comfortable and serene setting just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina.

At Freedom Detox, client safety and comfort are our top priorities. While we have physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, and counselors available, we are not a hospital-style setting. Our clients are constantly monitored for signs of discomfort, anxiety, depression or withdrawal symptoms by our team of qualified and licensed professionals. The Registered Nurse is responsible for:

Properly instructs and guides behavioral health technicians and LPN’s in client care responsibilities and assignments. Supporting the Charge Nurse with helping orient new employees to specific policies and procedures. Offer positive constructive feedback and direction to students/interns on the unit. Convey accurate information in supportive and courteous manner to unit nursing and tech staff. Seeks out supervision and direction from physician or charge nurse. Completion of nursing assessments, transfers, discharges, treatment plans, progress notes, medication reconciliation, medication administration, and vitals. Knowledge of detox protocols. Assist medical doctor as needed. Report any unusual occurrences to charge nurse/program director promptly. Ensure room assignments are appropriate to clients’ needs. Attend and actively participate in departmental staff meetings. Maintain medical equipment in proper working order. Maintain confidentiality and proper boundaries.

Strong background in substance use detox protocols. Working knowledge of HIPAA laws, confidentiality, state licensing regulations, CPR, AED and First Aid. Able to effectively meet the needs of the client, positive relationships with internal and external providers to coordinate care and effective treatment outcomes. 

Current RN license in state of NC.
Current CPR/BLS
Experience with substance abuse and detox preferred but not required.
