Job Summary:
Provides prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients under the supervision of a licensed medical practitioner or health professional. Works within their full scope of practice and ensures that high quality and safety is consistently delivered.
Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Reviews and prepares patient charts prior to patient appointment;
+ Performs various duties related to the patient appointment and medical record, such as vital signs, problems, medications, pharmacy and health history;
+ Epic EMR proficiency for routine clinical tasks, such as orders, changing providers, making/changing appointments, recording administered injections and use of quick disclosure;
+ Enters orders into EMR and obtains insurance authorizations for tests and DME, as indicated in provider notes/orders on patient visit date;
+ Able to act as a liaison between patients, providers, office staff and outside contacts. Ensures smooth provider work-flow, solving problems and notifying staff and patients of provider delays
+ Conducts assessments to evaluate hor urgently a patient needs care
+ Ask questions and coordinates care with other medical professionals, such as nurses and physicians
+ Takes calls from patients with medical issues and helps them determine the best way to treat the issue
+ Evaluates the information provided by patients and recommends emergencty care, home care, or a doctor's visit based on the severity and circumstances of their condition
+ Prepares patients for medical examinations and tests
Minimum Qualifications:
NYS licensed/registered RN. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year or greater of directly related experience preferred. Experience with electronic medical records (EPIC) preferred.
Work Days:
Monday through Friday Daytime Hours
