  GiaCare Inc. is currently accepting applications for experienced, civilian Registered Nurse – Behavioral Health at Wright Patterson AFB, Ohio.

Qualifications:

Degree/Education: HCW must have graduated from an Associate’s Degree (ADN) or a Baccalaureate Degree (BSN) program in nursing accredited by a national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the US Department of Education. BSN is highly desired.Life Support Certifications: Basic Life Support BLSExperience: Have a minimum of three years of experience in levels of care, including post-hospital and acute care illness stabilization.Possess at least 12 months of direct hands-on experience in the last 24 months with computer operations, basic word processing, data entry, and the use of automated medical record systems.Accumulate at least 36 months of total nursing experience in ambulatory or inpatient clinical settings.Have experience providing services such as psychiatric nursing or behavioral health and wellness for 24 consecutive months of direct patient specialty care experience.Licensure/Registration: Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse

Typical Job Duties:

Working primarily in an outpatient primary care clinic, focusing on Family Health and/or Internal Medicine.Providing mental health clinical case management, care coordination, and disease management for patients prescribed psychotropic medications by their Primary Care Manager.Monitoring treatment adherence, providing education, coordinating care, maintaining data registries, and executing primary care behavioral services.Coordinating patient care across a continuum to achieve optimal health outcomes.Assessing, coordinating, facilitating, and delivering care for adult patients and providing patient and family education.Orienting, training, and mentoring new personnel and delegating appropriate tasks.Working independently with minimal oversight and adhering to organizational values.Ensuring compliance with standards of care, ethical, and legal boundaries.Participating in peer review and monitoring professional nursing practice.Evaluating and caring for patients using the nursing process.Demonstrating proper patient preparation and performing dosage calculations.Effectively communicating and collaborating with diverse groups.Documenting all activities accurately, both written and electronic.Utilizing critical thinking to make appropriate clinical decisions.Recognizing and responding to emergency situations quickly and appropriately.Competence in required emergency procedures.Completing orientation and competency verification programs.Ensuring a safe work environment for employees and patients.Promoting quality performance and participating in performance improvement programs.Identifying process issues and participating in safety reporting processes.Completing all jobspecific training requirements on time.Participating in local, AF/DHA/DoD, and national teleconferences as required.
