Registered Nurse - Cardiology - Full Time, days (St. Mary)
**Employment Type:** Full time **Shift:** **Description:** St. Mary Physicians Group, a member of Trinity Health, Mid-Atlantic, is looking for a Cardiology RN with Electrophysiology Device experience to join our team! **Nursing** : + Works with providers and patients triaging phone calls to resolve questions concerning medications, health education, and medical advice within skill level and scope of practice + Keeps accurate record of patient interactions. + Provides prior authorizations through insurance/pharmaceutical companies when needed. + Submits electronic prescriptions and refills according to providers’ orders. + Sees patients for nurse visits under supervision of provider for BP, rhythm, and heart failure management. + Communicates test results, need for follow up care, instructions per providers direction. Provides explanation to patient/family regarding treatment plan. + Assist in providing comprehensive cardiac care in clinic environment. + Perform ECG tracings, understand and interpret intermediate ECG rhythms and advanced standard clinic response to each rhythm. + RN is responsible for providing a detailed plan of care including explanations and educational resources regarding orders, medications, and tests/procedures. **Device** **:** + Knowledge of pacing modes, ICD arrhythmia detection parameters and therapy options. + Telephonically and in person assess, interpret, and report implanted cardiac device functions and recordings; assess patient questions/concerns and refer as appropriate. + Device system evaluation, testing, and data interpretation. + Recognize normal vs. abnormal device function. Ability to troubleshoot device related issues. + Cardiac arrhythmias--evaluate and appropriately classify, assess effectiveness of prescribed therapy. Address inappropriate detection, therapy or therapy failure with EP physician in timely fashion. + Clearly document evaluation outcome of visit, including summary of device testing. + Communicate effectively with patient/family regarding their device system and plan of care for the short and long-term follow up of their device. + Triage ICD, pacemaker, implantable loop recorder, and EP telephone calls. + Perform and coordinate in clinic and remote (Latitude, Carelink, Merlin, and Biotronik) visits. + Maintain device testing equipment and understand use of each. + Assist with clinical research trials. + Maintain records related to device advisory/recalls/alerts. Assist MD with new advisory information.
