Addresses the psychosocial, physical and general aspects of care related to the surgical environment. S/he communicates with surgeon and anesthesiologist continuously and as needed about patient condition, assists with the maintenance of surgical equipment and inventory, and participates in performance improvement activities. S/he assesses operating room for equipment functioning and readiness, obtains supplies for individual cases and ensures all appropriate needs of surgical operating team are met. Works closely with interdisciplinary team/DBC/Materials to assure specialty service lines (Ortho/Vascular/GU/GYN/Podiatry/General/Robotics) to facilitate care to our surgical patients. Monitors, positions and assists patient during procedure. **The value you’ll bring to the team:** · Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate patient care needs for the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients. · Performs initial nursing assessments. Documents findings within identified time frames and activates initial plan of care. · Act as a clinical resource for perioperative services personnel within the specialty using professional guidelines and evidence-based standards. · Communicates with other staff, nurses, vendors, physicians and administrative personnel regarding any needed equipment/items and also assist with any problems/issues · Works collaboratively with staff inside and outside respective departments.
